We still have two cars even though we are retired and that is a luxury that we would struggle to give up at the moment. I do lots of walks alone and with my walking groups which are in remote places difficult to get to using public transport and DH uses his all the time to go to his model railway group, meeting friends, DIY store trips (which I have no interest in going to) and the gym so I could not be bothered trying to book the car and finding he was using it. I don't tend to use my car for local trips though so walk or cycle to do small shops, see friends or go to the gym. My friend who is retired went down to one car between her and her husband and he drives all the time now so she has lost all confidence so would struggle if for some reason he couldn't drive. If we go out together we take it in turns to drive.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Happy half term @elbree.
@enthusiasticsaver I believe I would never be allowed to drive a shared car, there would always be some reason why it was easier to drop me off, etc…or if I did, there would be comments about the mirrors, seat positions, parking, etc. until I gave up fighting it, so I will always stick to my own wherever possible. I love the independence of it and would hate to give that up.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
