id lob a big handful of pudding rice (or risotto rice if you’ve not got it - they are interchangeable) a pint of milk, the clotted cream, sugar to taste - either on the hob and boil for 20 ish mins or in the slow cooker for 2/3 hours. I also add nutmeg, sultanas, chopped apple and sometimes a tin of evap milk.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Good morning and happy Friday 😁😁😁
No the pets don’t know it’s my day off…I brought coffee back to bed and they are wittering constantly about their breakfasts 😖
There is no snow today, so I may take dog for her drive. With working from home I don’t go out enough to keep the car battery really happy, so it will be complaining as I missed last weekend with the snow. It’s a newish battery, but it has a lot of fancy pants stuff to keep going and tells me off when it gets too low. If I go today and Sunday it will keep it happy, it’s bad when even your car tells you off! I won’t be without it though. If we shared a car I would be blamed for every adjustment of the mirror and every stone chip, I just know it…it wouldn’t end up being shared and I’d feel I had to ask to use at as the lower user. I’ve had my own car for 30 years and I’d feel trapped without having it there. I know it’s a bit odd and not MSE 😬

Morning
I'm on my own but i would always want my own car too; I grew up in the sticks so a car was essential and it represents freedom and independence
So far today i have logged onto work and sent some emails; put all the bins out and taken a video call from DD2 who has a problem in her rented flat; she has phoned the emergency number which always goes to voicemail...
Enjoy your day of freedom WW

Have a lovely day WinterWarrior.
I'm another who would want my own car, I don't think I could give up my convenience a car brings to someone else, and you know that's what would happen£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund2 -
I wouldn't give up my car unless I could not longer drive & had no-one any longer that could drive my car for me. My mother made that mistake after my father retired. My father didn't like her still working so he made getting to work difficult for her so she was catching the bus in all weathers, she was 5 years younger than him so she landed up retiring at 58 but still basically had to beg to go out on her own. It is an over my dead body thing for me & is something I know will come eventually but I am dreading it. Unfortunately you can't stop your eyes getting older. My attitude is don't let go of anything until you have to. The first thing my sister did after the dust had settled from my fathers death was take my mother out to buy the smaller car she wanted.

I agree, it’s the freedom of knowing you can go if you want to…even if you don’t want to! MrWW is lovely, but I can never shake the horror of the ex h, and need the ability to flee if I need to (even though I know it’s not like that). Some things scar you for life. @badmemory it’s awful how people can deliberately make the ones they are supposed to loves lives awful, just because they can. Your poor mum, I hope she had many happy years in her little car.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Yes she did WW, thankfully. She was widowed at 75 & did love my father as he did her. I always thought that my sister & I were inconvenient byproducts. They had an interesting & somewhat fiery relationship. Nowadays a lot of it would be recognised as PTSD. But she did say to me in her mid 80s, that if she had her time again she doesn't think she would get married unless she was pregnant. Now that was a real gob-smacker. She was older than the queen can you imagine her coming out with a statement like that.
