You do amazingly well with your NSDs. I need to get back into them too...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I’m on an NSD challenge that beanie told me about...declaring an NSD keeps me honest as I have to follow through 🤣
my biggest wobble? Playing games in wk 2 and general frittering overall...nothing huge, but nothing in the plan! I need to be strict...although spending real money is harder than spending credit I find. When I had a balance on the card it felt like ‘oh well what’s £x more?’, but when I have limited spending money and zero on the card it makes me think harder. I’m so used to thinking ‘oh we’re out of bird seed/fat balls/whatever, I’ll order some’, instead of thinking would I rather feed the birds or would I rather be debt free? It’s all random small stuff, it’s just getting into the habit of questioning my choices. When I was sticking to the spending money plan it was helping me decide which sweets and books were really worth the money, so I need to get into that mindset properly 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

You can do it. You have us lot for entertainment of an evening now anyway. It's boredom and being lonely that makes you do the other stuff. I'm busy Friday and Sunday 7-10pm but other than that I'm usually not far away. This month you've left your cc alone so next month pick one or two pots to leave as well as your cc. I'd recommend the Christmas and birthday one to leave if you have one as we're almost halfway to the date for the fat man in the red suit and unless you're like me (fallen out with all of the inlaws and told my family not to bother) you'll be glad of the extra pennies come the end of November.
Despite Madame Burova beng chick lit and me guessing the ending about half way through the book, sigh....I ordered the other two books by the same author from ebay. £4.69 total and not breaking the bank. Instead of thinking that you have £50 a week to waste, start making a wish list. My wish list is mostly travel. Memphis, New Orleans, London with the teens (the HT's boyfriend has never been), the Black Isle and the Isle of Iona. Some places are looking way more likely than others.4 -
@CRANKY40 that’s a excellent idea having a few no touch pots as a start! The good thing about outlawing the in-laws is that you can spend the surplus on presents for you instead...hurrah!I don’t normally do chick lit either, but I do like a peek at the ending if a book feels to be going ‘the wrong way’....kindle is annoying that way! I’m not good with surprises 😁
Your holiday wish list sounds good. Beach holidays are so boring, give me stately homes and museums any day.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I wasn't expecting the Wakenhyrst ending, I didn't guess that at all. My family on my mum's side came from Iona a long time ago. My Gran and my mum were born in Glasgow but my Gran was sent to Inverness as part of the Glasgow slum clearances when the government paid for children to be fostered out and parents were only allowed to keep one child.2

I haven’t read Wakenhyrst and hadn’t heard about it until people were chatting about it on here. Is it based on Iona?I’d not heard of the Glasgow slum clearances. Imagine having to choose which child to keep 😮 I’m in the far north, but am an ‘incomer’, Yorkshire born and bred 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Good morning and happy Friday.
I have already spent £200, but that’s the pet food for June. Hopefully there won’t be any top ups needed.
my spending money has been allocated and money has gone to the pots and EF. Next week once the dd’s go out I will be back to a sad looking current account, but that’s ok. I always feel better when the payments have gone out.The sun seems to be shining and I have the day off..woohoo. No idea what to do, but it doesn’t involve work!
Have a wonderful Friday 🧁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Wakenhyrst is based on the fens, not Scotland. I had it free as a kindle cloud download so I read it out of curiosity. I'm nearer to Yorkshire than Scotland, lol but having done my family tree my mum's family came from Iona so I'd like to go there just to see what it's like.
Happy pay day!3 -
Enjoy your day off and extra long weekend!
I used to buy Ava for my dog but now that he extra large bag is finished I thought I'd try something cheaper.I bought a small bag of Tesco's to see how it goes.
