Mr SA will not give up the remote controls for anything. It’s obviously a man thing 🤣
I think there’s a solid business idea in making dummy remote controls for them to grasp as they nod off in their chairs…leaving wives and partners free to switch over to something sensible (and turn the volume down to a level that doesn’t make the foundations tremble)…

On the volume front it’s the opposite here. He has the volumes turned down to inaudible mode then has the cheek to say I’m going deaf 😱 Even DS has commented on how low he has the TV.

  • Oh how strange, so only MrSA and the dog can hear it? We have extra loud, you’d think space ships were landing in the living room…

  • Good morning and happy Saturday 🍫☕️📚
Saturday at last! Today we go into town to collect MrWW’s prescription. I won’t declare an NSD just yet in case we pop into L*dl for some shopping bits. I would like to, but there are grumpy vibes so we shall see. I can’t pop in tomorrow as I’ll have dog with me.
I tillied another £5 to the mortgage and £5 to Christmas 22. I can overpay up to 10% a year, which made me laugh when I enquired. I’m keeping a track, but short of a large pb win or a long lost millionaire relative dying and leaving me in their will it’s not likely 😬
I ordered some no more nails, which arrived during the week, so I can mend my drawer fronts. At the moment my unmentionables are in a shopping back hung from the drawers, as that particular drawer should not be wrestled with in the dark when half asleep. When the glue arrived MrWW was outraged that I hadn’t told him they need mending, despite me telling him they needed mending several times a week for many months (and the evidence being before his eyes) 🤣
I hope you all have enjoyable Saturdays filled with all good things 🍫☕️☕️☕️📚📚

  • Hi @Deni_debt-free_dreamer, enjoy your drive. At least 150 miles of the journey you can sing as loudly as you like (or is that just me?). I also have money pep talks with the hound 😁

  • Morning,
I am so impressed with the Christmas 2022 savings in January. I have started a budget but have no idea how to stash away the little bits of money into different pots until they are needed. I don’t think cash envelopes would work as my kids occasionally like to declutter my purse contents :(

Total Debt May 21 £20,490.44  DEBT FREE DATE 29/7/22

    Mortgage balance May 21 £177,096.19. Now £143,588.36
Mortgage free date. At start of sole mortgage = July 2042

2024 SAVINGS FOCUS - get rid of the car finance. £12,706.25  PAID OFF
2025 Savings Focus - 33.3/33.3/33.3 split; savings for house renovations (bathrooms/garden/kitchen; whichever collapses first), save for a family holiday (probably our last one!) and paydown/offset the mortgage. Total pot = £3275.88
