I still own every Georgette Heyer & every Agatha Christie too.  The pages are yellow/brown now.  I have a couple of other paperbacks that have been read so often that they are now loose leaf books, its a good job the pages are numbered.
I also have every GH. I found my first one in the library at 13 and started buying them when I started work at 16. Some I have in duplicate from when the pages started falling out of the originals and now I pick them up again on kindle when they have the 99p deals 😁 Which is your favourite?

I think These Old Shades but that could well change tomorrow.

I used to be a book club member in my old job and it certainly took me out of my comfort zone- in a good way!

I haven't read half as much past couple of years and planning to do more this year. I think I'm going to pocket £2 a book and see where I'm at.

    Any plans for today?
The ‘sensibly defrosting in the fridge as instructed’ turkey is still a block of ice, so I will leave it out today! The cheap champagne is in the fridge, but will be saved for lunch tomorrow. I doubt we’ll be awake at midnight anyway.
I took dog out at 7.45 for her second moaning. MrWW took her about 3am! As I walked down the hall in the dark I could hear water splashing…one of the cats was playing in dogs water dish 😁 splashing it all over with his paws. This is why the dish sits on a flannel on a big tray!
Today should be a no spend day. I have Amazon vouchers left, but am trying to make them last.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday 🍹🍫☕️📚🎄

  • good morning :)
i ordered my next 2 book group reads yesterday from WoB - i like 2nd hand books so long as they are at least VG condition.  I have done a bit of work for one of my PT jobs this morning (sat in bed with laptop ) but hopefully going for a walk and hot choc with a friend later.  It is very mild here so i've put 2 blankets out on the washing line!
I don't have any plans tonight but i may make a veggie roast dinner and have cauli cheese before i say bye-bye to cheese until Feb :(
Hope everyone has a happy NYE

  • @badmemory good choice. I just slightly give Devil’s Cub the edge, but always read those two together. I also love The Grand Sophy. So joyful.

I suspect I tend to chose that one because it was the first one I ever read whilst commuting.  But it is an impossible choice to make really.  Funnily enough I never thought of getting them for my Kindle.  I've recently had to replace it & love my (very expensive) new one.  I can read it in bed without the bedside light on, so when I fall asleep it just falls on me & I don't get woken up by the bedside light.

That’s why I love my kindle too! And if it drops on your face when you’re nodding off it doesn’t hurt like a hard back 😁

I love GH, excellent choice for a never-fail WW. I'm at my Mum's with 8yo for a few days and Kindle won't pick up the WiFi to download latest book of series! Have 3 to read before the 5th of Jan 😱.
Oh no! Which series is it?
Have you ever read the Flashman series? This series is a bit like that but set mostly at sea - they are great fun adventures. I'll be most irked if I can't finish them in time 😂
I love GH but never see them at 99p?! How do you spot them?

My favourite is The Masqueraders, such a fun story with everything neatly tied up by the end 😂

Oh dear!  I'm changing my mind.  Time for a re-read I think.  Now do I read the actual books or do I get them for my kindle, oh the decisions!
