:D:D I like to be able to relate to what's happening, however, I really should make more of an effort, because I know that I like some books within the genres.  If I was given them I'd happily read them, it's just not my 'go to'.

I'm reading the Chaos walking trilogy at the moment - have you read them?  They are one I didn't think I would like but do!

  • Morning all and Happy New Year :)
I made a veggie roast dinner last night & was watching TV feeling a bit lonesome when a friend rang me; had a lovely chat :)
I've never read Georgette Heyer !  I'm reading a vegan cookbook at the moment for inspiration ;)
It's very mild here so a good day to get out for a long walk; went for a walk with a friend yesterday to a route i'd never done. nice to find some new walks.  I want to get back to my 10k steps a day

  • Morning @Deni_debt-free_dreamer, I hope you find some inspiration.
I could do with starting a step challenge, I used to do 10k when dog was younger.
This morning I moved £10 overpayment to mortgage and £5 to Christmas 2022, so at least I’m working on something!

I haven’t read it, but I did recently watch the film. I didn’t realise there were books until I just looked them up to see what they were about.

I've been reading along but not commenting on the books. I have ordered Wide Sargasso Sea though as I've read and re-read Jane Eyre. Another book that will probably be a favourite for my whole life is The Secret Garden because as a child I could picture myself in that house and garden. As a child who grew up mostly away at weekends with my nana at her sister's house I never want to read a Mills and Boon ever again because that was all that was available. Our local library was tiny and I quickly out grew the downstairs childrens section and moved upstairs to the books for "grown ups". I really enjoy seeing all the book recommendations from people here.

Plans for this year are to read some of my previous favourites but more slowly.....

I'm sure I have the Secret Garden on my kindle bought in a moment of nostalgia. I loved that book as a child. I'm currently re-reading The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett.

I love the Secret Garden too.  I want to re-read Jane Eyre - I haven't read it since school.

I also love The Secret Garden. I usually buy the book that comes with The Mail in Tesco every 2 weeks and have read some books I wouldn’t normally have picked up and really enjoyed them.
