But imagine if you put just £1 in a pot after every book....some of you would be rich! 🤣

WinterWarrior - left to myself i chose the same authors and genres so belonging to Book Groups means i get forced out of my comfort zone and read books i would never choose - & often enjoy them!  I read a book called The Song of Achilles, an adaptation of Homer's Illiad - (i've just g00gled it;) - I would never have picked that out in a bookshop or library and i forced myself to start reading it - i loved it!

  • I'm a little jealous. The number of books you all get through is admirable. It is something I haven't been able to do as not settled. I do miss it...

If I’m not settled I go back to an old favourite..sometimes you need a book with no surprises and a guaranteed happy ending (Georgette Heyer I’m looking at you!). A good book, some snacks and a drink are such comforting simple pleasures. I hope you pick it back up soon @doingitanyway…maybe a 22 for 22 challenge?

I still own every Georgette Heyer & every Agatha Christie too.  The pages are yellow/brown now.  I have a couple of other paperbacks that have been read so often that they are now loose leaf books, its a good job the pages are numbered.

I love GH, excellent choice for a never-fail WW. I'm at my Mum's with 8yo for a few days and Kindle won't pick up the WiFi to download latest book of series! Have 3 to read before the 5th of Jan 😱.

Do you know, I'm tempted to give this a go with mortgage overpayments.  That could be a nice sum by the end of the year!

I used to do this too, then I challenged myself to read the '1001 books you must read before you die'.  I read loads of books I wouldn't have dreamed of picking up and it's really widened my choices.  Now I make an effort to read more widely.

I also have every GH. I found my first one in the library at 13 and started buying them when I started work at 16. Some I have in duplicate from when the pages started falling out of the originals and now I pick them up again on kindle when they have the 99p deals 😁 Which is your favourite?
