  • @amber03 they are all the same. I’ve offered alternatives today and he went for bacon sandwiches for breakfast and ham sandwiches for lunch…so his avoiding bread lasted overnight only 🤣
he has also insisted on pulling out a frozen back up turkey to defrost so I can make another Christmas dinner for new year…yay, I’ll enjoy doing that 😢
I took dog for another little drive this morning to see the world for half an hour and now am trying to finish this blinking jigsaw…so much snowy sky, so much!

  • Another Jane Eyre fan here too. She is such a bold heroine. I also love Jean Rhys for writing wild Sargasso Sea to give voice to Mr Rochester's 'mad' wife.

Like your OH I think another turkey on NYs day is an excellent idea :)

Any overpayments make sense...as Mr T says, every little...

  • I haven’t read Wild Sargasso Sea. I lean more towards fantasy and magic these days, but will look it up, thank you 😁

Good morning and happy Thursday 📚🍫☕️🎄
I kept waking up and ache all over this morning. A combination of pets sleeping all over me, stealing pillows, stealing covers, needing to go out for a wee (dog) and snoring (MrWW). I’ve been getting lower and lower down the bed trying to keep my shoulders covered 😬
Yesterday I took dog for another drive, just to go ‘somewhere’ and nearly finished the darn jigsaw…just a patch of blue sky left to go. I will finish that today…I will!
I was thinking about 2022 goals and plan to try for the following..
    1. At least 1 mortgage overpayment per week.
    2. At least £500 savings per month, excluding pots.
    3. At least one random act of kindness per month.
    4. Beat my 2021 books read total (I think I’m at about 78 this year..I’ll check my list).
    5. Declutter one thing per week (clean/tidy and throw, repurpose or sell).
    6. Look for the joy in things.
If anything else springs to mind I will add to it.
I need to lose weight, but I won’t put that on myself as a goal, more of an everyday eating mindfulness!
These are all achievable and I should be able to stick to them.
I hope you all have fabulous days, please do let me know what you are up to. I wonder how @carolbee is doing on her lovely Christmas holiday?
Wishing you lots of fun and laughter and wonderful things today ⭐️☕️📚

  • Morning WW your goals for the new year all sound good, I also need to tackle my weight!! just cant face it at the moment - stress. We bought Christmas forward to 22nd in case there were restrictions (family were coming on 26th they live away) had a lovely day then my daughter (teacher) tested positive on Christmas Eve and she has been so very poorly and still is, not sure where they get its only mild! At the moment touching wood we are ok (vulnerable) just all keeping our fingers and toes crossed!
I love hearing about your dog she sounds so like my retriever I lost a few years ago they are absolutely amazing dogs I now have a very loving energetic bundle of fun we were her fourth home in six months.
    Have a brilliant day x
  • Thanks @jwil.
thanks @Four_Seasons. What good thinking to have Christmas early! I agree, the definition of mild seems to be ‘not hospitalised’ and they don’t remind people how ill they can still be. I hope your daughter feels better soon. What dog do you have now? Four homes is so very sad, but they’ve landed on their paws now.

Good to have some goals for 2022 that are achievable. Look for the joy in things is one we should all adopt, it’s hard sometimes.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Meant to write the family had negative lateral flows for seven days before they came.  My furry friend is a tiny cockerpoo she had been bought for breeding but was too small, she is just a bundle of love and sloppy kisses, loves her toys and living on a farm she has lots of lovely sniffs to rummage out.  Daughter just tx feels no worse so we are taking that as a positive sign she is on day 7 and still testing positive, its a pattern every school holiday she is ill, reading on here it seems to be the norm.
How is the crochet going, I taught myself from the internet but can only do easy things prefer knitting.  Have I read that you make quilts? x
