  • good morning everyone
I had a lovely day yesterday with my friend at a NT place, the weather stayed dry and the surroundings were beautiful.  We took a picnic so my only spend was 20p as i bought a CD from their second hand sale :) When i got home i bought a new coat online!  DD2 borrowed my warm coat and it got stolen from the gym; so i don't have a warm padded coat anymore; this one was on sale and i got an extra discount code.
I am going to do a proper budget today for January; I'm going to do Veganuary (eek, my fave food is cheese) but i already have some vegan options in the fridge/cupboards and am going to batch make soup today.  I have an almost full tank of petrol.  I've got one birthday in January to buy a gift for.  i need to eat better so i'm hoping this will kick start better habits and more veg etc.
    Wishing everyone a fab day
    love Deni

  • @Four_Seasons your cockerpoo had a lucky escape then. Breeding is no life ☹️
The crochet…I managed a wibbley line! I do make quilts, self taught from internet tutorials so I’m no expert, but they’ve been fun. Full size are hard to pin together on a dining table! I was having a break for Christmas to get the table back, but have a baby quilt to make in the next few months.
I would love to get good at crochet!

Morning All, sounds like you all had lovely Christmases. Ours was the usual with the in-laws. Lovely I don't have to cook although this year MiL served all veg in foil trays to save on washing up 🤣

MrWW idea of Christmas Dinner on NY day has given me the idea, I may invite the in-laws over. I'll see what MrM thinks.

We also have a yule log that had a date of 26th, still some left and absolutely fine!

I just saw something on a FB book group I'm a member of. Everytime you finish a book, put money in a pot. £2/£5. At the end of the year you have a nice little pot of savings! Made me think of you WW.

I've read over 200 books this year, I'd be rich (if someone else was putting the money in)!

  • Wow @jwil, I should be over 80 at year end and I thought that was good. How do you find time to work?
