The wave one is just one type of stitch with reductions (making 3 stitches into one) and increases (doing three stitches into the same gap) and once you've crocheted along the starter chain it's easy, Much easier than it looks.

I learnt to crochet when I was about 9 and then didn't pick up a hook again until about 6 years ago and constantly have something on the go.  I find Attic24 is amazing for patterns and showing how things should look at at stage.  I'm left handed so watching videos doesn't work for me as it doesn't even look like crochet as I know it!  Have a Google for Attic24, her blog and designs are great.

Thanks for all the crochet tips and links. The one I’ve loved looking at before is deramores, they have some amazing kits that look so very complicated! 

I will let you know how I get on…probably in a flood of tears and a tangle of cheap woolly knots 😬
The post has been coming very late, a combination of Christmas and a new postie who likes to chat 😖 so I might not get my woolly treasures until late afternoon.
I do still have the jigsaw from hell to finish though, so I’ll be ok 🤣

Afternoon, i have put up all my xmas cards and my final parcel delivery has arrived.  Our post has been suffering delays since Oct due to new rotas in the sorting office, staff shortages and now xmas!  I've been cleaning and changing beds so DD2 has festive bedding for when she arrives home from uni tomorrow.
I have to brave the shops again and the PO.  I'm meeting DD1 at an out of town complex in a few hours, hoping it isn't too busy by teatime - perhaps everyone will be getting ready for the Strictly final and we will have the shops to ourselves

I agree SA, I won’t know what to do with myself on a Saturday and Sunday night until next autumn now! 

Deni, I hope you survive the shops. I love a shopping complex, but haven’t lived near one for 10 yrs 😢. I used to spend many a happy Saturday pootling about my favourite one and having a Costa treat 😋

I've always been a knitter but have recently picked up crochet again, I love making baby blankets they grow really quickly, much quicker than knitting.  I'm making a little baby matinee coat at the moment with flowers along the bottom forming the band, so pretty.
