Update…a pre order book has hit (I want it, so not too sad), so £3.99 I wasn’t expecting!
And my credit report now has an amber face on one line 😦 I’ve been all green for as long as I can remember, but apparently paying off my loans means lenders can’t see I’m a good payer 😡 Not that I want a loan , but it’s still annoying that I get to a good place and am rewarded with an amber! The numbers are still at 999 though so I won’t stress about it….and I hope to not need a loan in the future (fingers firmly crossed), but still 😡

Afternoon WW.  As Martin says, take no notice of credit scoring as each lender has their own criteria anyway.  Fingers crossed you wont need another loan.

Nice to have a new book. I reserved one at the library but never got the notification to say it had arrived, then got a snotty email to say I hadn't collected it! 🤦‍♀️

You can do August on a lower spend. 💪

Happy Tuesday! I am equally as excited to sort out my plans for August, it's probably an end of month thing that we get to do now to rebalance our finances.

I don't think your high spends is that bad, we've all had our moments, and can always adjust the books for the next month. But feel free to post it here so you have extra eyes

Welcome @Humdinger1. I’m not very good at MSE yet, but I hope I’m entertaining 😁 I have a really lovely bunch of people on here and we have some really fun and random discussions. It will be lovely to have you on board 🌺

Thanks @anjyeah, it’s so satisfying starting a clean slate each month. The trouble with the overspend is I’m almost back in the credit card trap I think. I was spending on the card and clearing with next months wage, now I’m just doing it with savings. I need to kick that habit and live in the present…so hard!

Happy Tuesday. To be fair, people would probably think that I've bought rubbish this month too but phone cables, nematodes for the garden, a book, fibit straps and so on all seemed fairly essential to us at the time. I've worked out August's budget and it's going to be a bit tight as it's a 5 week month for us but I'm sure that we'll survive.

Don't worry about the credit report. I'm sure most of ours would have made interesting reading in the past when we were blissfully unaware but we still managed to find places to borrow from 😁

Thanks @Naomim and yes I need to make Martin proud 🤣
I think I should apply a ‘what would Dave do’ question to some decisions (but not all, or I’ll suddenly find myself paying for courses and sending lots of money to church 😬)
What a mean library…there should be reverse late payment charges where they owe you because they didn’t tell you on time 😁

@CRANKY40 nematodes? Worms? I just had to google…this is news to me! It all sounds like an essential list to me (barring the wrigglies)
I’ll try and class August as a 5 week month too as I get paid the last working day, so it will be mid week. The main thing is not to run out of books, coffee beans or chocolate 😊

Afternoon WW :) Do you give yourself a weekly spending budget or monthly? I do weekly because if I do blow it, it's not too bad having to only wait a few days until my next allowance kicks in. Not that I really spend very much, but I also like holding out for a few days and rolling it over so the amount I get to spend is bigger. A sort of short term pain for long term gain psychology.  :D
