I'm not a fan of totally open plan either. In my ideal fantasy future home I have a small room just off the front door with a squishy armchair, a fire and wall to wall bookcases. I shall refer to it as 'the library' and sound totally up myself.
Oh I’d love that…I want to be up myself with a library too 😁 Obviously if we can step up the fantasy I would like ladders or stairs and a balcony to reach the top level books and floor to ceiling windows…I guess I’m going for a castle or Hogwarts there 🤣

My library does had a floor to ceiling ladder on rails that you can push around the bookcases.

Much thought has gone into my house.

Sounds good to me. Alternatively, you could call it The reading room.

I didn't watch Anne with an E but you've reminded me that I wanted to. I'm not good at remembering things to watch. I wanted to go to the Chalet School too and I've just made contact again with the only other person at my primary school that read Chalet School books.
Have you read Hilary Mantel's books? I have them to work my way through....
I love love the chalet school books - would probably be my chosen Mastermind specialist subject. I only tend to read chick lit though - I want pure escapism 😁. I loved Anne with an E but was so annoyed when they cancelled the series after investing so much time in it 😂😂

Hoping to get an extension in the next couple of years and have told DH I want a reading corner as part of it xx

@BalanceBy50 not just Anne with an E…we swear in this house that we are the kiss of doom with any series we get invested in. One minute you are happily waiting for the next series, then !!!!!!!

Good morning and happy Sunday 🌞
No spends planned for today. Yesterday I finished my quilt and my book and changed the bedding. Today I will take dog for a drive, get on with my next book, maybe do a touch of housework (or not) and possibly start my next quilt (or at least decide on the design).
This week will be a count down to payday, but it’s always a count down to Friday, so not too much different 🤣
I hope you all have wonderful Sundays 🌺🌸

Good morning. I'm thinking that today had better be a housework day, sigh. I had a staycation along with the teens last week and the absolute bare minimum was done. I hope you enjoy your drive with the doggy.
