I'm not drinking alone, bestie has a drink too and to be fair, since February if I opened our front door and shouted him he would hear me he lives that close. When we're actually in the same room together we drink coffee 😁

Both of my parents were alcoholics so apart from the year after my husband died I've always been cautious with alcohol. My sister is much the same. A couple of drinks when we're together is our limit. I haven't seen her since 2018 so I think we're due a few this weekend.
Apologies Cranky I missed this. I wasn’t meaning anything about your drinking, sorry. I absolutely would have a drink alone, but worry MrWW would judge me! I’m a lightweight and 2 would be totally over the top for me 😬 I’m also cautious with it as my ex h was an alcoholic and I’ve also seen first hand exactly what it can do to a person (and the people around them). It must have been terribly hard for you growing up 😞

Don't worry, I wasn't thinking anything of it, just explaining.

Morning :) Another lightweight drinker here, although I do enjoy a G&T if there's something good on TV but it lasts me all night.

Do you buy your books new, second hand or use the library? I've no particular reading interest so can usually find something in the 3 for £5 section at The W*rks.

I'll have about the same amount of spends as you but I think my saving grace is I'm not keen on coffee so don't see it as a 'treat' which I'm sure saves me loads. Looking forward to seeing what you buy, although I'm hoping you don't give me too many ideas and lead me astray  :D Have a good day. x

@teafor2 it will be my august challenge to lead you astray 😬
I used to be all about ‘real’ books, but then reluctantly tried kindle…and now I’m all about kindle! Seriously, it’s great, you can read in the dark and if you are falling asleep it doesn’t hurt like a hardback when you bonk yourself on the face with it 😁 I have lots of free ones lined up to read from the bookbub daily email, the Amazon first reads and from searching kindle books in price order. Often they’ll put the first of a series up for free, if you don’t like it you’ve lost nothing and if you do enjoy it then you get sucked in to buying all the others! I have rather a lot of favourite authors though and pre order the new releases as they get announced.
We don’t have any book shops up here, the nearest thing is the medium sized Tesco which is about 30 miles away, so online book shopping is a must.
you don’t like coffee 😦…how do you make it through the day?

You sound like the sort of person my Mum would have told me to stay away from @WinterWarrior :D Ooh I don't think I could ever convert to Kindle, I love turning pages too much and buying new bookmarks. I'm a tea person and it's rare to see me without one in my hand. If I'm feeling very sophisticated I'll dip into the Earl Grey. I'm not keen on what they serve in cafes though. I've yet to find anybody who can provide a decent HOT cup of tea. Considering we're a nation of tea drinkers it's disgraceful what they serve :#

I’m an avid reader too.  How is the library service where you are?  Here in Kent we can borrow magazines and books electronically.

love your writing, preparing to be led astray.....

@carolbee I haven’t tried the library service, but I never seem to run out. I know I can read magazines for free on prime, but haven’t as I just don’t have time! I think I have about 77 books on my kindle I haven’t started yet 😧 I keep ordering the free ones and saving them while I pay for my favourites 🙄 (and don’t get me started on my wish list).
I will try my best to lead you all astray, I have to live up to the reputation @teafor2 ’s mum would have given me 😬
And hot drinks are so hard to find! I tried all sorts of coffee pod machines and they were never hot enough. At cafes it’s the same problem, unless they use a proper bean grinding machine. And it’s the same with tea…it needs to come in those awful stainless steel pots that pour all over the table cloth to have a chance of staying hot 😂

My best friend is also a lightweight drinker because of his medication. We know that two is his limit because I had to put him to bed and check on him for the first half of the night after three 😂 The HT is a tea drinker and I'm a coffee and gin drinker.

One of my other friends who has lots more money than me so buys real books had a book clearout last month and I came home with 5 big bags of books that I am yet to work my way through. Happy days!

You’re in the right place, I have to dust off the bottle when I bring mine out, but I enjoy it when I do.
I tried some fizzy white wine in cans and it was almost as good as from a bottle, maybe not quite as fizzy. I was all for ordering more, but the price shot up to nearly double! Why does Amazon do that?
At the moment I have a box of bags of Maltesers in my basket…I really want them!
