Halifax £100 switch incentive

Halifax are not quick at sending out the debit card for the new Reward Account. Account opened on 15th April, switch fully completed 26th, £100 paid before switch completed. All the bumpf received for the new account in the post. Pin number received on 23rd but still no actual debit card.
If it comes today, will a £500 payment to NS&I go through in time for the month end reward do you think?
Edit - Post just been... Still no debit card.0 -
Sorry if I am being a bit thick here (it's getting late and have got fed up trying to downgrade my Santander 123 account without success)... I have a Halifax current account which I use for bills on one house. I have a Santander 123 account which I use for bills at another house. Both are registered to one address though. I was planning to switch the Santander 123 account to Halifax Reward current account but when I try to do a switch it is forcing me to switch to the existing basic Halifax current account. Do I need to open the Reward Account first as a new account and then switch my Santander 123 account into it?0

Applied, accepted, reward options selected, and switch from M&S initiated. Took all of five minutes.I've also put a fiver into my M&S account, just so it's got something to actually switch!0

Your current Halifax account is just basic account or rewards account? I had an existing rewards account, so downgraded then next day opened a new rewards account and switched my nationwide account. All went well and today got the bonus and debit card as well. Hope this helps.

If it doesnt say rewards current account then it ain't one. Also just check if you are not getting £5 or any other rewards every month from that account, which will mean that you dont have a reward account anymore. So yes, just do what I mentioned and should get the bonus. Fotrgot to ask, you did not get the bonus after Apr 2020 right? If not then you are eligible.

Has anyone who did receive an incentive for switching since April 2020 managed to get another £100 for a switch under this offer?
I could apply for an Ultimate acc, and would do so if this may be likely.
Although from what I remember from many years ago, Halifax systems are on the ball with this (unlike Natwest group!)0 -

My partner switched his old Nationwide account to this Halifax one, switch should be complete soon and we've already received the £100.
However we've not yet selected a reward as we don't have £5000 to put in there and can't spend £500 per month on the debit card. What happens if we don't select a reward? Can they take away the £100 somehow?0 -

Can they take away the £100 somehow?no they cant/wont take away £100. It's a reward account where you get rewards but I dont think there will be an issue if you dont want any rewards. You can be eligible for your chosen reward without actually spending £500. Top up to Revolut, Pay to your spouse via PayPal (Halifax Debit card linked), Deposits to Savings account who accepts Debit card payments (for e.g. NS&I, Skiption). Lot of info are available in previous pages...But be aware that there is £3 monthly fee to maintain the account and if you pay in £1,500 or more each month you won’t pay the fee.
