So s the same got told the 1st  spoke to then sat and now saying 24th hubby is a week behind so that should be 31st  hopefully  now all restrictions have been lifted and everyone goes back to work  thinks will be quicker doubt it but can live in hope cant understand when they were doing the 4th grant and wanted to check peoples id they gave them a drop box to upload  id ect which would have been easier and quicker in this case

Of course they don't. They can only tell you what they have been told to say. If work is not complete  by one date they will be told to the next date to say.

They aren't working the claims. They are in a call centre looking at a screen.

Your efforts are valiant but your summary, while correct, appears to be falling on deaf ears. As you say, the call handler has no, absolutely zero, knowledge of the progress of the return capture and resultant claim and no access to the repayment mechanism.
