I've then connected those TP-Link 'wall-plate' APs in various rooms to give strong wifi throughout the house.  Works perfectly.  And cheap as well.  The EAP-115 AP costs about £35.

    Erm, £37.44 actually :D

I've ordered one to try ...

So, what does the syslog mean - a little bit out of my depth methinks .....

I've copied it and saved as syslog.txt but 'file not allowed'
How else can I attach it?

    EDIT
This is the best I can do, sorry ....

As I recall, the original intent of the log was to see if the problem was on the WiFi side or the "Internet" (WAN) side. If the WAN side has already been ruled out as the issue then perhaps the log is now moot. (At least you've now learned a little more, so the effort wasn't wasted) :)

That hosting site wants an email address to send a link to - so I won't be looking, sorry.

    But would the syslog help?

So, any idea how or where I can upload a .txt file?

    (1) No idea but I would expect so (if it's like any other, typical router log)

    (2) I don't typically use such sites (though I do have a Dropbox account). Maybe https://www.techradar.com/best/file-hosting-and-sharing-services will help? (Or maybe Auntie Google :) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=free+file+hosting+site)

Hmm - I chose the first one on Auntie Google that wasn't a comparison site .....

I can see that fine, but the content doesn't mean a whole lot to me - sorry. Someone else may be able to tell you something about it.

What I did notice was that every entry was from Thursday ... there was nothing earlier. Had you rebooted the router?

Are you also happy with external people having access to your network?
(unless  this has some kind of ringfenced access on the wan side that cannot get to the LAN side or open up access to the outside)

Yes, rebooted as I moved it into the lounge on Monday (?) and back on Thursday
