I walked into the bakery and ordered 2 cream cakes, then went to the car and ate them both. I still had a pudding with my tea.
The day before that I went to the allotment but had to pop into the local shop for him to get some food. I came out with a pork pie and a choc bar, I ate both within the hour. Nothing new I might add.

I do now eat chocolate but it is one portion (2 or 4 squares depending on the size) from the bar, not the whole 100g bar or one chocolate (with a cup of coffee) and not half the box.7 -
Thankyou @LittleVoice. I will have a look at that. i did see him once on tv talking about visualising slugs on your chocolate, no way would you eat that.
So far eaten today. A banana and a single slice of thick buttered toast with a 3rd of a tin of baked beans.
I need to eat about 1500 calories a day to lose a pound a week so I am going to work on that basis I think.
I have calorie counted before and it has worked.
Also my activity levels are increasing as I train for the Moonwalk. I did 3.5 miles yeaterday plus worked at the CS unloading and loading rails and moving bags of donations upstairs.
I should note that I used to be very fit although overweight pre cancer (5 years ago). I never fully got my strength or stamina back so will be working on both this year.

I like the idea of ' I'm not the sort of person who stocks up on chocolate' kind of person, I replace chocolate with carbs, and there it is the perfect self portrait. I shall weigh in on Tuesdays purple devils or not.
Yesterday I proudly ran 10 k in woody hills, lovely run, but my legs still hurt. I am well behind the group, so I will try and go and do some intervals this week, and see if I can work my speed and endurance in time. As a fairly oldish person, I find that it takes a long time to improve my fitness. but_by_bit, I cant imagine trying to come back after serious illness, but I think giving it time - then it will happen - nudge by nudge.

This is slower than slow but I'm concentrating on finding a way that I can live without putting weight on, enjoy what I am eating and not punish myself. If I happen to lose some weight along the way, then that is a bonus.
I am finding it helpful to think "stomach" rather than "mouth" when the munchies are around.
I can so easily convince myself that I am hungry when I'm not at all, I just want to eat.
I have been reading a book on How To Retrain Your Appetite, and it makes perfect sense.
No good if you want to lose as much weight as possible in the shortest possible time, but if like me, you are looking for a sustainable way to live without putting on weight and eating enjoyable foods, this is the way to go.
I'll tell you what I've stopped doing....being rude to Blue. NO! I'm joking, that will never happen.
I've stopped eating for the future and the past. You know, "I only had half a slice of toast for breakfast so I'm entitled to have a doughnut for elevenses" or "I'm not going to be having dinner till late, I'd better stock up a bit at lunchtime." I eat whatever I like but only enough to satisfy me NOW.

Morning All,
Logging in with a 1.5lb loss this week.
I'm calorie counting too - but the more important bit I realise is checking my calories burned - on a day where I don't move from my desk much that can be as low as 1400 calories so no wonder I was putting weight on very easily!
I've stopped alcohol apart from special occasions (which used to be any day ending in a "y") and now walk on the spot regularly while working/watching TV. Gosh my life sounds fun doesn't it?!

Logging in with my first weigh in - a loss of 1lb. Since finding out how to recalibrate the scales they seem to be behaving so I am believing them re the loss.
I've dug out some old dinner plates which are much smaller than the ones we have been using - that seems to be helping with the portion control. One problem I do have is that most of my recipes are for 2/4 - I'm cooking for 2 at the moment (so can freeze the extra 2 portions) but as I am now eating less than one standard portion I'm left with a 1/3rd portion over - I don't want to give it to DH who could do with losing some weight himself, i don't want to throw it away, but it seems like too little to do anything with! Previously i would probably have concocted something for lunch for myself with it, but DH has been working from home for over a year now, so I have to provide lunch for both of us.
We took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and managed to see my parents for about 2 hours - then the sun went in and they got a bit cold, but it was lovely to see them. DH's mum is a bit further away, so we are hoping for some much nicer weather to go and see her in the garden attached to her retirement flat. If we go now I think she will get too cold too quickly and although we want to see her 4+ hours driving for 1/2hour visit seems a bit daft!8 -

I love your future and past diet idea Monna i use that far too often to justify what I'm eating and when
Ditty I can walk 10kg but my knees would object to the running as would my bust even with a sport bra on
Bit_by_bit I decide to diet and my brain goes into panic mode and starts sending panic signals to the rest of me to stock up, the word diet can make me eat more 'treats' than I do when I'm not dieting
2CM2 Can you and your husband have different lunches for example on Wednesday you have LOs from Monday and he has them from Tuesday? I cook just for me so have to avoid recipes for 4 unless they half or quarter easily. One of my sisters got new dinner plates a long time ago which were huge and the first time I went around for dinner she told me off for not finishing my dinner. I had to go out and plate up on one of her old plates and then transfer onto the new one to show her the difference in size, she was filling the new plates up and wondering why she was gaining weight, her husband and sons were happy to eat the larger portions.
Lilac there are less calories in a spirit with a slimline mixer than wine or beernot that I'm driving you down the path of hard liquid or anything
but that's my excuse for a G&T and there's the added advantage of one of your five a day if you add a slice of lemon
