Hello all.
Another lifelong member of the evening snacking club here. Last week was busy and I was a STS. This week I'd like to report a 1 lb loss please. I've joined S/World again as my friend has put on 3 stone and I'm worried about her. I've agreed to go with her as moral support....not sure how long she will last but we'll see. It can't do me any harm and I walked through the doors lighter than I've ever been joining S/W ever before.5 -

Thursday 1656 cals 5 veg/fruit (cake and chocolate)
Friday 1595 cals 6 veg/fruit (cake but no chocolate)

I thought the purple devils were quite friendly looking (and acquired some last quarter) but Brambling's thinking has value.5 -
Hopefully with your support your friend will be able to make healthier choices Cranky unfortunately as we all know if you're not in the right headspace it's not easy. Having to go with you should help

lovely day here so I've been pottering in the gardening so avoided anything naughty, currently to eat something I shouldn't I will need to shop or bake and don't want it enough to do either 😁

We do freeze the cream in small portions un whipped as we use it in curries and soups. We are actually doing ok now we can spread it between ice cream, cheesecake etc too plus give as much away as possible. We use the old cream cheese tubs (250g size for both cream and cheesecake mix. We have proper recycled icecream tubs for the iced cream.
There are only two of us at home and we will not be eating all of this stuff. There will be some family gatherings later in the year as covid allows and the ice cream and huge cheesecake in the freezer will be shared out at a self catered 'do' in our garden.
We share one tub of cheesecake pud, no biscuit base and like today, we had it with jelly.
Could someone explain what STS means please?
I need to retrain my brain! By saying I want to lose weight I have immediatly started eating even worst than normal. Take Friday. I popped into the local shops and dropped some stuff off to the CS. I walked into the bakery and ordered 2 cream cakes, then went to the car and ate them both. I still had a pudding with my tea.
The day before that I went to the allotment but had to pop into the local shop for him to get some food. I came out with a pork pie and a choc bar, I ate both within the hour. Nothing new I might add.
All this on top of regular meals.............I think I need to start food diary but my first target is to cut the extras out.

bit_by_bit “STS” means weight Stayed The Same.If it’s any comfort, I find the Greedy Gremlins as I call them listen in to my thoughts and as soon as I resolve to “be good” they leap in to sabotage my good intentions. I’ve ended up by not making any resolutions, just trying to be aware of what I’m buying or eating and asking myself - as I reach out for that delicious, calorie-laden snack - “how fat do you want to be?”

Having put enough distance between myself and hot cross bun gate ( with a gorgeous ginger chocolate easter egg on the side) I would like to report a loss of 1lb5 -
Would you believe it? I have lost 1 lb.
This is slower than slow but I'm concentrating on finding a way that I can live without putting weight on, enjoy what I am eating and not punish myself. If I happen to lose some weight along the way, then that is a bonus.
I am finding it helpful to think "stomach" rather than "mouth" when the munchies are around.
I can so easily convince myself that I am hungry when I'm not at all, I just want to eat.
I have been reading a book on How To Retrain Your Appetite, and it makes perfect sense.
No good if you want to lose as much weight as possible in the shortest possible time, but if like me, you are looking for a sustainable way to live without putting on weight and eating enjoyable foods, this is the way to go.
I'll tell you what I've stopped doing....being rude to Blue. NO! I'm joking, that will never happen.
I've stopped eating for the future and the past. You know, "I only had half a slice of toast for breakfast so I'm entitled to have a doughnut for elevenses" or "I'm not going to be having dinner till late, I'd better stock up a bit at lunchtime." I eat whatever I like but only enough to satisfy me NOW.I believe that friends are quiet angels
