Don't do anything.
Just sell and get out of there as soon as you can.
Edit; I've been through all sorts of nasty stuff with houses. Hang in there, it does get better.

You can buy a device named SleepPhones. They are a wearable headband that you can connect to your phone and play white noise through. I have had neighbours play a bass guitar all night long and they totally drown them out at the right volume. The best white noise selection for me was ‘celestial womb music’ - no joke! Reasonably comfortable to wear at night in bed and they can also double as an eye mask to block out the light.0

I'm a guitarist myself. I keep it very low at night, and check that I'm not disturbing neighbors at anytime. With electric guitar, its very easy to use headphones with modern technology. Your neighbor is being very selfish, and you have my sympathies.

Hi, I can sympathise completely with your predicament.
I can also say that, in my case at least, it doesn't get any easier with time.
One thing that did help and is possibly something cheap you can try first, is to download an MP3 track called BoomBuster.
It only cost a few pounds (I'd send you the MP3's myself, but in this instance I think the creator deserves a little cash for making the thing) and sounds a bit like an airplane engine.
It helps of you have a decent sound system yourself but it drowns out all bass noise. You can still hear a bit of the trebbley stuff, but it worked quite well for us.1 -
I’m the rear dormer roof done today. It was tough decision to pay £3k for new roof or 1200 for repair with 1 year guarantee. I’m really not happy buying the house and thinking of selling because of noisy neighbours playing loud bass music.
i chose the 3k with 15 years guarantee.0 -
It's not ideal to buy then sell shortly afterwards. It's really dependent on how persistent the noise is and how much it affects you and your family.Slips36 said:I’m the rear dormer roof done today. It’s not persistent but it’s can happen anytime they feel like it or if they are drunk. These are old Victorian terraced houses and the bass noise is so loud and annoying has we can’t hear our tv. There are 5 Slovakian men and 2 girls they seem nice apart from the noise. They probably think we’re unreasonable has the other neighbour who are students renting doesn’t seem to mind.Deleted_User said:

I went over to see them about it but they didn’t want to get involved.0 -
I've been in similar situations and can understand how stressful it is. Perhaps it's something you'll eventually adapt to. There is a difference between something being annoying versus genuinely affecting your sanity and stress levels, at which point it's time to take action.Slips36 said:

All of them I think. It is to do with the money laundering regsRelievedSheff said:
If you decide to sell so soon you will severely limit your choice of buyers. A lot of mortgage companies will not mortgage a house that has been sold in the last six months.Slips36 said:To be fair apart from the loud bass noise they are decent neighbours. I only bought the house five weeks ago and thinking of selling. I bought it for 305k but with the rear dormer roof replacement for 3k I’ll need 310k to break even.
The house is in Reading, 3 bed terraced with rear dormer loft and garage in the block behind the garden. What should I tell estate agents reason for selling so soon?0
