Quick question, did you have to sign for the letter? We have a red card in our postbox as we’ve missed a A4 letter that didn’t fit in our box sent yesterday special delivery... maybe im just wishful thinking lol 

No, it was put into the letter box, but it was definitely an A4 envelope with priority delivery! Sorry just catching up now!

Also the letter was posted on the 30th April but they didn't update the portal until wednesday 5th May! Was it the offer in the end?

Just an update from us, we got our mortgage offer today! 🥳 so happy and finally feel like there's been a weight lifted 😅
For anyone reading this looking for info... here's a brief timeliness that might help: 

12/3 - Full application 
20/3 - Passed initial checks and application sent to underwriters 
6/4 - Extra docs requested by Saffron 
9/4 - Sent all extra documentation 
14/4 - Back in underwriter queue
27/4 - Valuation instructed 
7/5 - Valuation carried out 
11/5 - Offer received 

What a scary couple of months it has been! But worth it now 😍😆

Good luck for the next few steps! Let me know how it goes!
I'm still waiting my solicitor to send me the contract to sign, and then finally to agree exchange and completion dates! Solicitors have been taking their time now, they said they received their copy of the offer only last Friday (a week after I received mine).

Yes such a relief! I’m sending back our signed contract tomorrow and hoping we can complete by 31st May. The house is probate so hoping this is possible!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! What does probate mean? (sorry for the ignorance!) I was also hoping to complete by end of May but, unless I receive the contract tomorrow, it's looking more and more unlikely!

The people who owned it passed away and so it’s being sold as part of there will. So it’s empty basically. Fingers crossed you get that tomorrow. My solicitor sent it last week special delivery, in fact that’s what the red card from Royal Mail was. So make sure they send it special delivery!
