Congratulations!!! Big step! You can finally breathe now!! I'm sure the 28th will be fine!
I am quite resigned now that we will not be able to complete by the end of May, as it is now only one week away and we haven't even started talking dates. I'm still hoping, if we exchange next week, that we are still on track to complete the first week of June, but I'm feeling a bit doubtful now. Will let you know as soon as I have updates.

Hi @kennedy1989 not really but little update yesterday from the EA! She said the seller has agreed on the indemnity policy and the documents from the management company are all with the solicitor now, so her solicitor was forwarding everything to mine yesterday morning. I contacted my solicitor immediately to ask her to confirm now we've got everything and we can set dates, and I told her I propose exchange and completion next week. Obviously, haven't heard back from her yet. Hopefully she let me know something today, because I need to transfer the money for the deposit tomorrow if we exchange early next week!!! It's neverending this stress!!! How are you? still all set for completing tomorrow? So exciting!!

@kennedy1989 that’s great!!! Huge congratulations, enjoy your new home! Yes, the hard part starts, but also the most enjoyable!!
So my solicitor on Friday said that she’s just waiting that the seller confirms once again she’ll be paying for the indemnity cover and then we can agree on dates. I had told her I wanted to exchange tomorrow and she said she’ll keep it in mind, and “hopefully” we can do it. Not holding my breath, but really hope to be able to exchange this week.

@kennedy1989 no sadly not and no news on when it will happen yet. I didn’t hear from my solicitor for a whole week until yesterday, despite me emailing and calling and leaving voicemails. Yesterday she said she received my deposit (I sent it on Wednesday) and she will start requesting the funds from the lender in preparation, but she’s waiting for an answer from the seller’s solicitor to confirm when they can exchange and complete. I got in touch with the EA and they contacted the seller’s solicitor and they said their systems were down 3 days this week (most creative excuse of the year, in my opinion), so they were just starting catching up with enquiries and they saw there was an enquiry from my solicitor (about exchange and completion dates) but they will not get to it until at least early next week. Which is ridiculous wasting a whole week just to agree dates! I told the agent I’m in need of exchanging urgently because my rental agreement is nearing the end so I need to notify my landlord but can’t do it until I’ve exchanged, and she said she’ll keep chasing, but I have no hopes there will be any news until mid next week. My solicitor is stil “hoping” to complete next week but I don’t think that will happen. They have to at least exchange, though!

  • Hi @laura_lau
    How are things going?
We are still waiting but every week that passes is a week closer to the move date 🤞 we signed all our paperwork last week and our solicitor is pressing their solicitor for dates.
Hope you managed to at least exchange!
  • Update from us if anyone is still reading this 🤣 we have provisional notice from our sellers builders. Her new build is due to be completed end of July meaning that's when we should move in!
