Setting my budget at £235 this month. 25th March - 30th April. 5 week month for me as payday is changing, but I planned for it so it's fine. I always get a really nervous feeling and this urge to buy loads of stuff in bulk "in case I run out of money" - which of course leads to running "out" of money. Which means taking it from money I'm trying to put aside elsewhere. I'm so awful at budgeting. I spend hours every month on all my spreadsheets, just planning and planning and documenting, and then I just throw it out the window!!!
Anyway, so far, £28 spent on 4x coffee as on offer at £2.50 instead of £3.70, and 10x the almond barista milk I use - I buy loads of these at a time as can't get them locally so has to be when I'm at a bigger supermarket which is just once or maybe twice a month at the moment. Coffee will last well beyond this month - milk will probably last the majority of it - I only really use it in coffee.
Also spent £22.73 on a veg and fruit shop. That was my kind of first shop of the week, then now I've done a bit of a meal plan I will go again tomorrow to pick up the few extra bits I'll need. Under control but have that panicky feeling!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Morning all
My April Grocery month started for me yesterday. Again, I am aiming at £250.
So, I started the first week of this grocery month in a fairly good position. I have a weeks worth of dinners in the freezer and I have some of the basics in like bread, milk and cheese.
I needed to do a top up shop though, so yesterday saw me spending £25.51 (which included a couple of large steaks for my son's 18th birthday dinner today) in Aldi, and £8.78 on some yoghurts and frozen fruit in Tescos. Off to update my signature nowApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2505 -
My April started last Thursday, and made just one trip to Al.i and spent £24.29. I bought gin, cider, and snacks for our Friday FaceTime gin bar with DD. Our cupboards tonight are pretty much bare, but will manage to feed us tomorrow then do our big shop Tuesday.I wanted to run down the freezer so I can defrost it which I’ve pretty much achieved. There’s a few things left in cupboard I need to include in my meal planning as I keep ignoring them ( quinoa anyone?) so will make a meal plan for the next 10 ish days and buy just for that. Hubby has Easter week off so hopefully we will do some local trips out with picnics in our campervan and spend some time outside walking and kayaking so need to maybe plan for this too.£24.29/£250.005

Hey @elsiepac could you please revise my April budget to £350? Seeing as how I’m coming in closer to £400 to March, I think I should be more realistic about goal setting. Thank you4
