Hi
Please can you put me down for £90 this month. I’ve had a nice surprise from my local council, they’ve received a grant and because of my circumstances I qualify for a £40 food voucher. I had to select a supermarket but there was plenty of choice. I am including the voucher in my calculations and I aim to restock my emergency cash purse by £20.

I'm off into April with a spend of £11.60 at M*rks for flowers, milk and a courgette which looked especially fresh. I was also lucky enough to find some y/s shitake mushrooms and a y/s root veg pack which had a shallot, a turnip, some baby carrots and some parsnips in it so those all dived into the slow cooker when I got them home and were joined by green lentils and the rinsings from the finished marmite jar among others.
Then this afternoon I walked to H*me B*rg**ns and bought rubber washing-up gloves, tea towels and some vacuum storage bags for £6.87 and then came home via Waitflower where I bought balsamic vinegar, yoghurt, onions, stock cubes and plums for £7.06. I was lucky again here as it was quite late and so I picked up some prepacked salad greens which were marked down quite a lot so that was good.
That makes my new total £94.47/£120 at an average spend of £8.51 per day so far this month.8 -
I am in late for April with a budget of £240 please @elsiepac. There are just two of us now, so have been able to drop the budget dramatically. I will adjust accordingly if this amount isnt working.

afternoon all and Happy Easter. So far our spends add up to £48.53/£350. Had some unexpected spends yesterday as we broke down whilst meeting my parents. Luckily we had recovery included in our policy so we were sent home in a taxi whilst the car was towed to the garage ready for when it reopens. Ended up buying tea out as we were still waiting for the recovery vehicle.
I've been concentrating on making meals from the food we have in the freezer the last few weeks, will carry that on through April and hopefully make some space in it.Grocery Challenge 2024

Spent £1.95 on radishes for snacks at M*rks which merely serves to confirm that I should take up salad farming immediately although I'm sure the slugs would eat most of the crop.
New total £92.52/£120 which averages out at £4.58 per day so far."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
