April 2021 Grocery Challenge

Looks like I'm going to come in (just) under budget for March.
Things to consider for April - it's a five week month for me, as my big shop is done on a Friday, but of course there is one less day in the month compared to March, and I'm not expecting DS1 home on leave at all this month.
I don't have to worry about Easter Egg spend this month, as I've already bought them all
As things start to open up more, I need to think about having separate budgets for petrol, eating/drinking out and suchlike, but I'll leave it as it is for now.
Anyway, Could I go for £440 this month please @elsiepac. That's all groceries, toiletries, cleaning products, takeaways, eating out, petrol and clothes. Basically, everything that isn't a direct debit.
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done8 -
Please put me down for £550 for April.
It's a busy month here. OH continuing his health & fitness journey so lots of protein (never seems to just be lentils though!!!), will definitely need a musclefood order early doors. Step kids here for a week for Easter hols plus my mum is moving to be close to us, but her new property isn't ready so will probably be sharing meals for a couple of weeks. I'm sure she'll contribute so I will take that into account in working out my budget.
I'm going to try and use some store cupboard basics for my lunches etc. But growing teenagers seem to like to snack!!!
Wish me luck

Also, if you cook it in stock rather than water it tastes better.
Sooo many uses!
My OH hates it so I rarely get to use it but used to loads.

Just finished my March shopping and have just squeaked in under budget by £16.72 which I'll move to my bulk fund as I've overspent there!
We're away in our Motorhome for a week during April so there will probably be extra spends but still going to try and stick to my usual £250 budget. I will of course be taking some ready made meals with me in the icebox but can only get about 3-4 bags in it so will definitely need to do some shopping while we're away.
First shop will be on Thursday.8 -
Well that was our big shop done for a couple of weeks ( just top ups will be needed).Bought plenty of meat and replenished cupboards and freezer as I’d run them right down.A few YS items including veg and some meat.We spent £76.99 at Morri’ons ( that’s with our NHS discount).Total for this month £101.28/£250.00
Thats scary since we’ve not even started April yet8 -
Hello All, I just made March’s budget with 45p to spare. I’m going to stick with the £200 for the month as I will need pet food again. I’ve been baking bread twice a week which has saved me some money and means there’s always something for the ever hungry boy to eat. Need to do first shop of the month tomorrow and get stocked up on a few bits for the month ahead.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)7

I already feel this month isn't going to match up to the last in terms of savings. First A1di shop £83.24 😥
But...this does include £18 leg of lamb for Easter Sunday plus a decent bottle of wine. My frugal purchase was the cheap vegetables that they currently have on offer.9 -
budget for this month is £150 again for the 2 of us. community larder will help. budget doesnt include animals stuff or alcohol. we dont have takeaways or eat out. good luck everyone. xx
