Miss Muddy Paws has been clingy as I spent yesterday at dancegran’sHow old is the oldest bank statement I should keep?9

Dancemum, according to Ionafan who got it from HMRC, in August this year we can get rid of all tax-related paperwork (including bank statements as far as I know) dated prior to 5 April 2016.Today's target of 110 computer files was exceeded a bit - 291 files and 20 folders are *flung*. It hasn't even made a dent in the amount on this computer. I've been transferring all my files to each new computer since the first one I bought and that was 1995 so there are mountains of guff on here. Imagine a filing cabinet that's never been pruned in 26 years and that's what this computer is like. It's actually a bit of a relief to finally get rid of the stuff that I clearly don't need, although it was all necessary at the time.30 bits of paper flung from the filing cabinet, as well. I am getting there but it's getting tougher. The last big file is the Food file and that's going to be a mammouth one to do. Kazwookie, when it's warm enough for you to be working in the shed I'll be working in the files in the attic so we'll be doing it together.Forgot completely that the dog groomer's would be closed until at least 12 April so took Layla up there for her gentle ministrations. Cursed a bit at my stupidity, popped into Lidl for some scampi and scored a Too Good To Waste fruit and veg box. Belovéd is dancing with glee because there were six limes and a pot of basil in it which he'd have bought and happily paid more than £1.50 for, so the bananas, tomatoes, cauliflower, leeks, savoy cabbage, orange and green peppers, swede and lettuce and were all 'free'. I may also have allowed a couple of boxes of Magnums to slip into the basket as well, but they're for after Lent, obvs.Had another search online for photo albums and found some at Smiffs that are exactly what I want. There's a £5 off for a £30 spend and £10 off for a £50 spend for a few days, plus it's Buy One Get One Half Price so Belovéd is buying me four for my birthday next month, and two for himself, with free delivery. Really, really chuffed with that, and I think those four will be all I need to do all of the photos left in my office. I weighed them and there are appear to be about 700, I think. I may prune more as I put them in the albums but that shouldn't take longer than a day at most, so that massive job which has been hanging around like a bad smell for decades will be DONE almost as soon as the albums are delivered. I'm so thrilled because instead of a Nagging Silent List job that's made me miserable, they will be a pleasure to flick through sometimes, and will fit neatly on a bookshelf instead of the lumbering great things I had taking up an inordinate amount of space that always looked untidy because none of them matched.Better is good enough.11

            Good evening
Today was my last Wednesday off due to Covid (hopefully!). I had a message yesterday to say that the mum of 2 siblings has been taken off furlough from next week. It will be so nice for the children to have someone to play with! Roll on 29th March when we can (hopefully) have toddler groups outdoors. These children NEED to socialise with children their own age. The little ones don't know any different, and even the 4 year old has spent a quarter of his life living like this. It's a bit scary when you think about it! I will be working 3 days a week until April, then back to my normal 4 days from then on (fingers crossed!!)
So, what have I done with my last day, I hear you ask? Sweet FA!! (I don't know why I'm laughing - it's not funny!) The dog has been for a walk, then to the vets. Another 2 weeks of ABs & some more steroids, and £122 worse off!! But he is getting better, and it makes me appreciate the NHS EVEN MORE than I already do!! I have vac'd the LR, bedroom and stairs. Unfortunately the bottom came open on the stairs, so I had to do that twice! Does anyone have a dys0n handheld? It is not picking up very well. I have cleaned the filter, but I think the problem is with the brush.
I didn't sleep very well because my mouth hurt. It still feels a bit tender today, but parrots are doing their job.
Mumof3 you have my sympathy re the leaking roof. Been there, done that - have the hole in ceiling to prove it! I must get round to fixing that...... it is on my Toots list! Well done on the delegating BTW! I hope it lasts!
I am glad Dizzy is ok.
Hugs to those in need. Feel free to chuck fluffy mules in my direction tomorrow!!11

Hi ladies Iona - thank you for checking on Dizzy, please give her my love xx Usual busyness here. Up at 6, hens, dishwasher, small people all sorted. Work done - loving having my year 11 class back. Cleaned and re laid the fire, friend dropped off even more wood so I am enjoying a mid week fire. Post office visited, egg cleaned up off the floor that DS dropped, dog cuddles, easy leftovers dinner. Just waiting for Asda to get here, then we shall put that away, DS will go to bed and DD and I will watch some tv. I may also have a gin. DS is 7 on Friday so I need to organise myself for that - they can take sweeties to school if they’re individually wrapped. Have fab evenings all xx ETA HB i was going to suggest Etsy for albums xx 10

Thanks HB that’s what I thought but wanted to check.
All this sorting of DG’s house has made me want get rid of most of my stuff. My family moved in when it was built in 1962 and I was born there. You can imagine what I’m dealing with.
More shredding done and dinner in progress.10

I have a handheld Dys0n, and I've found it's usually the brush that needs cleaning when it doesn't pick up properly. (Mine gets clogged with hair when we have people here with long hair.) I went on their website and put the model name in to find the instructions on how to get it out to clean it - it's very straightforward.Goodintentions said:Does anyone have a dys0n handheld? It is not picking up very well. I have cleaned the filter, but I think the problem is with the brush.I do have a different problem with mine that drives me nuts. I put it on Max quite a lot and find that it cuts out even when there's plenty of juice left in the battery for no apparent reason. It's not the filter, I wash that regularly, but the problem's getting worse with age. Anyone else have the same problem?Better is good enough.9

Car despatched to the repairers after my altercation with a lorry last month. Not ideal timing, but we will have to work around it.
Work done from home. School driven to and from, and repeat. Another cba evening on the cards. I really need to dig up some guag from somewhere.

            Hi all
HB you have done some amazing work sorting those photos, you must be really chuffed.
Good day at the paid stuff, a big piece of work finished, I have worked really hard on it and its a good feeling. I am going to take tomorrow morning off. I have a meeting tomorrow night so will work through.
