Thanks Good Intentions. That's exactly how this house started to fill up - other people 'giving' me things and one doesn't like to appear ungrateful but I rather wish they hadn't and wouldn't.With decluttering I can finally see where I've gone wrong in the past and I've now found a way of doing it that suits me perfectly, so unless it's nailed down it's probably not got long in this house. I'm not a minimalist but nor am I a collector. The two drawer filing cabinet is finished and now has about one full drawer's worth of paperwork in it which is as much as I want, or need, to keep. This computer has been completely decluttered and today I deleted 199 files and 31 folders, bringing the total to 611 files and 57 folders *flung* plus exactly 50 more bits of paper from the filing cabinet, bringing that total to 771.Ordinarily I'd get a drawer full of paperwork down from the attic tomorrow, but it's Saturday and I feel like having a weekend off - Sunday will be taken up with Foodbank work anyway. AND the Smiffs photo albums arrived today, they're pretty much exactly what I wanted and I've got about 750 photos ready to slot into the 800 spaces, so that's what I'm going to be doing tomorrow. I rather suspect there will be more chucked out as I'm doing it, and that would be No Bad Thing. It's 47 years of my life, minus various working holidays and adventures abroad and some holiday holidays which are in the albums I've done over the past couple of weeks. Mostly I just want to see what my life looks like, now, with all the dross removed.Better is good enough.9

HB.. if I removed the dross from my life there would be absolutely nothing left! Sounds very liberating!
SPD assessment done.. waiting for the report.. I'm expecting to to say it is ALL down to ADHD and she has no SPD..
Dunelm bits picked up.. the few I could afford at any rate. £8 worth of bedding and a mirror DD1 wanted..
OH went to shop about 30 minutes ago.. and hasn't returned.. I am getting twitchy.. he is usually gone about 5 minutes.. he has 3 more minutes and I am ringing.. I've already messaged..
ah... he returns. He was yakking..
DW, WM's, TD, recycling, laundry shuffled, kitchen half mopped because someone kicked over the cats water bowl, kitchen sink bleached and everyone now ready for bed..
Oh.. I collected Fabian from school with my lot.. and DD1's 2.. so I had to walk home with Squeak and Fabian and OH took DD1's home and our other 3.. it was so nice to actually be out in the outside with a purposeful walk.
I have 2 ebeasty items to sort to post tomorrow, Squeak to deflea and tomorrow Tesc0 delivery to finalise.. otherwise we are getting 8 boxes of cat food!

Evening all,
Busy busy day as usual. Before work I managed to put a load of laundry away, chop some wood (yes i actually did that before work), get the woodburner going (which was merrily burning away still when I got home five hours later, yippee 🥳) and make the beds. This afternoon I have had a nap, made a chilli in the slow cooker, kept the fire going and made easy oven pizza for dinner. Also called at the butcher and co op before work.Suitably tired now so I'm in bed with my book. My to do list for tomorrow is huge, and includes cleaning the hens out, batch cooking and sowing seeds. I also have some laundry to do so I'm hoping for a dry day. Will no doubt check in tomorrow sleep well all xx11 -
YorkshireLass I have always imagined you lived down a quiet lane near to a cliff top walk with sea views 😁
Had an important update meeting with the SW today as DS2 has been away nearly 11 weeks or 12 so plans are being made for afterwards. Some places only have 6 hours care a day and he has always had 24/7 until now. It is an extreme rollercoaster ride. It has given me a headache.
Did I mention I’m going to visit him on Sunday?Moved DG’s freezer last night to help a relative out but when it got to her the casing has been stripped off some of the wire so it has had to go to the tip, I wasted my energy oh well it was exercise. At least it is out of the house and I have cleaned it’s space. We have to pop to Mr T’s as DS2 has lost his lunch box annoyingly. College face to face starts again this week.8 -
Another day gone.
- taught online student for 2hrs
- made sure I wrote up the session just in case I feel ropey after tomorrow's jab
- went for a long but very blustery walk with Mr N
- had a wander round the garden to see how things were doing, did a bit in the greenhouse
- finalised Mr T order
- had a phone call from my mum; the card I'd posted yesterday at 3.15 had arrived already
- long phone call with very stressed friend who is moving house starting tomorrow
- emailed friend/host in SA to confirm the 7 of us will not be celebrating Mr N's 70th with her as none of us feel comfortable about flying abroad this year, whatever the rules say by August
- did a few more bits from the task list
- tidied away a load of clothes in the bedroom
All being well I can catch up on any necessary flying tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Oh my chest is bad today.. I'm sat sat here wheezing and coughing and wishing I was asleep but I can't move to go to bed.. and it's dusty up there and my breathing is worse.. I may need to take Hetty for a walk tomorrow.. and Henry needs a bath (I have an upstairs vacuum and a downstairs vacuum because I can't carry it up and down!)DW emptied but not refilled.WM emptied and partially refilledTD not emptied.Tesc0 delivery sorted for tomorrow and another booked for the 27th-ish..
Erm.. oh.. door... I decided... The fireplace is being re-silvered and the door is being silvered and the panels pink glittered with the wall emulsion BUT I am going to varnish over it in the vain hope the emulsion doesn't chip off.. OR.. I may do it pink with grey panels.. That's tomorrow sorted.. *wheeze* lol
OH/DS2/Boog/girlies can vacuum and DW and tidy and hang laundry and mop and dust and I will paint.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Hello WAC... sigh xx9
-
Hope you got off to sleep again, asb . My turn now ....10

I’m here with you x10

Hi all hope the WAC got more sleep.
I heard DS get up for work and came down for a brew. Wide awake now.
Dancemum Hope your visit to DS goes well. I am involved in a project to help young adults with additional needs. Many of them need suitable living accommodation and good quality care but its hard to come by. The government seems to be very focused on spending money on caring for the elderly, but young people miss out.
Oh and I live in a tiny village on the edge of the moors, 3 miles away from the nearest local shop and pub, and 25 miles away from the nearest Tesc@ or other big shops. Its lovely and we have a big front garden and open fields at the back of the house, but the road through our village has got a lot busier in the time we have lived here. Mind you I guess my definition of busy is not the same as others! I would love to live by the sea.
No idea what today brings, I need to do some exercise. Think DH wants to go to the garden centre.12
