I started on the second curtain and will finish it probably tomorrow. Did quite a bit of knitting. It's now do nothing Saturday afternoon. A huge tree has come down on the main road past our village, fortunately just missed cars in each direction. How lucky are they?Spend less now, work less later.9

Pigpen glad the fish has been found and is OK.
Fayolle I said to DH last night that I wasnt having chips because I am on a healthy eating and exercise kick. He said "dont worry love its just a bit of middle aged spread". I told him firmly that that was not the correct response and he should have said "what nonsense, you are perfect as you are". Anyhow, I am currently having strange bread cravings but mind over matter, right?
One load of washing out, its been raining on and off but the sun has come out, even if I just get it out for an hour its better than nothing. House is reasonably tidy, I am planning on doing a bit of spring cleaning when I am on holiday anyway. My neighbour dropped me off a couple of books to borrow so I might start one of those.10 -
Three loads of washing done; one has dried on the line and the others are drying in front of the wood burner.
Hens cleaned out, poo picked, very full DW unloaded. I’ve also napped! On the subject of schools Piggers I am considering moving my two to a different primary nearer to home which I really should have sent them to in the first place. It’s a much nicer place but I feel like I’d be disrupting them, despite doing it with their best interests at heart. They’re years 2 and 4, any thoughts? Plus it’s so close to home (over a field), when DD hits year 6 she can walk home no problem. Agghhh.
Love to all
Xx

Getting rid of dross is extremely liberating, Piggers. It's taken me along time to work out how to do it, so I'm thoroughly enjoying it while it lasts. It's also exhausting because it's all about making decisions but I'm sleeping very, very soundly as a result.I hope Sunday's visit goes well, Dancemum.Good luck with the bedroom shuffle, declutter and refurbishment(s) GI. You're right, camping gear does not belong over your head in the bedroom, especially in March when it is cold and wet, and blowing a gale. We had hail several times today - not camping weather, is it?My life story photos are now in albums! Yay! My weighing them to work out how many I had obviously didn't work because instead of the 750 I thought I had I've only almost filled two, so that's marginally less than 400. This bodes very well indeed for when I find the drawer-full I absolutely know I've got in the attic somewhere. I'll annotate these ones properly and tidy them up at some point but in the meantime what took up eight feet of bookshelves is now condensed down to 4' in an organised way, 18" of which is going to be condensed into one album of ancestors when I find the other set I know I have in the attic, and will take up less than another 3" instead of the 18" currently. I also found a small 5"x7" photo album I bought in a CS years ago which has taken the two CD thingys of photos people have sent me plus all the 5x7s that I had in amongst all the others. All in all it's been a brilliantly satisfying day that has been years coming. I'm very, very happy.Another 17 photos chucked bringing the final total to 1,206. The interesting thing about that number is that I have spaces in all the albums I've put together over the past few weeks, so the absolute maximum number of photos I know I've got is 1,388 - so I've got rid of somewhere close to half of them in the past six weeks. That really does surprise me. Looking through the albums now, I'm not sure I could want any more and I haven't missed a single one I've chucked. I have ditched very, very few photographs of animals which I now realise are the ones that bring back nothing but happy memories. I need to print off a couple of photographs of Kelpie and Layla because they're only digital at the moment and if my computers crashed I'd have none of them. Nothing else matters, really. An interesting outcome as far as I'm concerned. Who knew a person could get rid of nearly half their stuff and it could be both easy, liberating and satisfying?Foodbank work tomorrow so I'll be back with you all on Monday to start downloading paperwork from the attic to begin the next phase of decluttering. Most of it's been up there for decades, adding to it every time I cleared out the filing cabinet and I've only ever needed two bits of paperwork from the mountains I've got up there, a completion certificate for the chalet and a life policy. Nothing else has ever been needed, and I'd have have managed without the life policy if I hadn't been able to find it. Tax records I'll keep but absolutely nothing else. I really don't need any of it, and I'm on a roll here.Better is good enough.9

Do it.. you wouldnt be considering it if you didnt think it was the best move. I moved mine in yrs 4 and 6 and it was absolutely the best thing I did for them.. They totally thrived. The new school was actually further away but it was such a lovely atmosphere, welcoming and caring and a light airy building. Even the dinners were much nicer.. They can keep in touch with old friends and make new ones.Deleted_User said:On the subject of schools Piggers I am considering moving my two to a different primary nearer to home which I really should have sent them to in the first place. They adapt very quickly. Mine took a bit of adjusting because the quality of teaching at the new school was so much better and caring staff took the time to give their free time to help mine blossom. Within 3-4 months they were asking why I didn't let them go there sooner.
My mother moved my sister for yr 6 (also to a school further away!) and says even now 20 years later she wishes she had moved her sooner. It also meant I could pick my sister up while my mother was at work so was very convenient.

Thanks Piggers love. Only slight fly in the ointment is there is a place in DDs year but not DSs yet ... logistically I could manage two school runs but what if there’s never a place for DS? Is that ok? I wish I had more parenting confidence sometimes - such decisions are so hard anyway never mind solo xx

That is exactly what happened with mine too.. There was a yr 4 place for Tiddles but no year 6 place for Moomin.. They were at separate schools for about 3 months.. fortunately one finished at 3pm and the other at 3:15 and it takes about 10 minutes to walk from one to the other.. whic meant Moo had to get out of class ASAP so we could get fr Tiddles who was ALWAYS last out so it worked quite nicely for us.

Catching up on thread as although I was determined not to have any effects from the jab, by 8pm I was feeling very shivery so had an early night for me at 9.30 with the electric blanket.
Jab went well, in fact a bit too efficient as I was let in early and came out before my scheduled appointment- which would have been fine but meant I had to sit in Mr T car park for an hour until my c&c slot. Filled car with petrol and dropped a jacket at the dry cleaners while I was out.
Gardening in the afternoon and the variegated ivy I had to prune was so lovely I kept some and did an arrangement with some daffs and camellia.
HB if your animal photos are digital, why don't you make a photo book- they take up so much less room than albums and it's easy to add background, labels etc?
Some of my seeds are sprouting too.
Wad a little disconcerted to find a lovely primula on the doorstep, happy mothering Sunday from the church, Mr N thought I'd been hiding something from him......we'll plant it in the garden in memory of his Mum.
Just having tea and paracetamol, most touched to get a text from my neighbour asking how I am.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning all
Been awol this week, long hours of paid stuff and minimal flying accomplished. I got caught up on the lists yesterday though and I have Monday and Tuesday off so looking forward to that. DH has taken the week off but I’ve split my days up to have several long weekends as we are not going anywhere. I prefer it that way as I don’t have a huge backlog when I get back to work...
Been in the WAC again but nothing accomplished yet, I’ve just set the wm to swish and am having a relaxed cuppa. Weather is ok at the moment although rain forecast later so a morning walk I think will be on the cards. Will kick DH out of bed shortly so we can do that ;-)
Have a good one all x10
