Quick question do you put it on after tea and unload it before bed. Or something different (assuming it doesn't get full up throughout the day) . Im sure I will work out a good routine
I put ours on while cooking dinner with the breakfast and lunch pots for that day and it also goes on either last thing at night or first thing in the morning or just some point during the day with last nights dinner pots , whenever one of us can be bothered. I do a separate pan wash every other day (they get sluiced and put back to use daily) and every 3 days I do an oven tray wash. The cat dishes go in every other day or when they need doing. I put toys, microwave plate and everything through ours. The high chair could be taken apart and went in. Some days it is on once, others it is on 4 or 5 times. I have put my well scrubbed crocs in a few times.. and my jelly shoes.. And my washed !! mooncup..
It often goes on as we are going to bed.. it is a 29 minute cycle and it takes OH longer than that to go to sleep plus thats why we have smoke alarms.. Modern dishwashers have excellent cut offs should they overheat or leak they have a safety cut off and some have alarms, ours flashes a code. I've had dishwashers for 25 years and never had an issue. Dryers however, I have had 3 of those burst into flames on me. I have 2 cutlery baskets.. one I keep on the side and fill up as I go and the other is in the DW with clean stuff in.. one in, one out.. makes it so much quicker to refill.
YOU don't put it on at all.. it is a perfect job for 12 and 7 (?) year olds to share! My 10 year old loves loading ours. My 8 and 6 year old grandbeasties load theirs. Your children aren't going to like me very much lol. it's ok, I don't think mine do either! HAHAHA
I empty it as I am refilling it, less to put away as half has already been used.. it is essentially another cupboard.
YL.. you are not being silly.. it is a massive move for you all and a huge developmental milestone for everyone.. I got upset when mine left.. then he came back.. and left again.. then came back.. and is 30 in Spetember and I'm not sure he is every leaving! It's a huge change.. ((((hugs))))
Today..OH got the door done.2 ratbags are washed.. the youngest 2.. the others can go in shortly.
DW on.. lunch pots, breakfast bowls, beakers and mugs and cutlery..
Washing in from the line and aired in the TD, It is Boogs stuff so I will chuck it on the bed and they can do their own stuff.. and I will demand DS2 brings his down.. I've not had any of his for months I'm sure.We need to pick up Moomin from her bf's.. COLLEGE TOMORROW!!
Does anyone know.. Charity shops.. do they reopen on the 12th April too?
This week I want Moomins room finished.. last bits being delivered on Friday.. a mirror and a curtain pole... and some filters for the cooker hood because mine smells nasty and hasn't been replaced in the 15 years since it was installed for a while.I have DS2's room next on my hit list.. unless I get roped in to help my mother do my sisters front room.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Thankyou pigpen ... was definitely thinking of giving the 12 year old the job of loading and uploading it 🤣
I have been delegating though and they now have chore lists..
7 year old (ds2) has the mental age of about 3 .. (hes diagnosed global developmental delay along with a long list of possible other stuff that he's waiting to be assessed for).. but he does have the job making his bed. Putting his laundry in the wm. Hoovering the lounge or dining room (dd and ds2 alternate each day who does what room) (with some help) tidying his toys away, feeding the cat, scrape off his plate/bowels into the food waste bin and putting his plate etc in the sink 😉
I'm also going to give him the task once a week to Hoover his bedroom I think. Dd has the same jobs.

I am 1,000 times beyond tired, so popping in quickly to send cuddles to YL, thanks again to Piggers for the advice and love to all.
Work this week is going to be bonkers, I'm now on a full time timetable for the foreseeable, my upper sixth need so much support.... but I need to be in because this house remains a lived in mess xx11 -
Been to see the aged Ps twice...firstly with a mothers day gift. I plumped for wine & chocs because she already had flowers and I knew she would be getting flowers. Then second time with some clip files so excellent flingage from Villa Valli and something being used instead of saved. DS came (with wine and hyacinths) so he was given his bank book which I managed to get updated but he needs to sort (building soc which was taken over). So more flingage.
Been to Mr l - got 4 salmon fillets reduced and a quiche - so all cooked and portioned and ready to freeze/chill. Had curry tonight and had 2 portions of that left so thats 10 meals - go me!
I run my DW overnight on cheap leccy and empty it in the morning - if I have to run it - can take me 3 days to fill it, now...
