Oh I get £500 cashback within 1 month of completion. I think I will use that to pay back part of the IOU to my mum.

I am a 'recovering' stationery addict...
- it's been a thing all of my life but a few years ago I wean myself off lovely smelling new notebooks and fine nibbed biro's and started using one-note instead. I really didn't I'd be able to do it but it's working so far.
We also have the ability to overpay on our mortgage at the same % (think we probably have the same mortgage product to be honest) This will allow us to over pay by £15k a year and once we have cleared both our debts this will definitely be possible to achieve, so even if we don't manage it in year 1, we can pay an additional £60k off in the last 4 years of the term which would be bonkers! Then it'll be a matter of either reducing the term as you say, or reducing payments, depending on our circs at the time.
Hope you're having a great Sunday, we have been clearing and pacing and sorting so very productive indeed.

One day I will also be a recovering stationary addict, just not today LOL.
I've just spent the day sorting out stuff I don't need and having a look through my paperwork to figure out my overypayment amounts and things like that.
Feel like I'm so organised and the only problem is my mortgage isn't even complete yet! I just can't wait for the money to transfer and for the mortgage to show up on my Nationwide app. I am such a saddo.0 -
I used to Tilly tidy my bank accounts each week (any odd amounts) and paid them off the mortgage immediately; meant there were lots of little amounts but it meant keeping my bank accounts tidy with nice even numbers
; as our interest was worked out daily it really helped reduce the amount of interest we paid. Sometimes I'd check the accounts during the week and round down then so even more little payments. The bank didn't seem to worry about all the little bits but it helped me feel like I was getting the mortgage paid off that little bit quicker! I was with Nationwide as well.

I might look to do something like that, hate having those random odd numbers in my accounts.0

Oh! they are in my Amazon basket!1

@Four_Seasons I've sectioned mine out and organised it.
My monthly outgoings section will last me 8 years exactly which is 1/2 the length of my mortgage.
I'm so happy with them, they were a bit expensive but in my opinion worth every penny!0 -
They are so lovely! I’m very tempted... there’s just something about starting a lovely new notebook!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25711
