  • I agree that the packaging is gorgeous!

I think I will sort some of mine out ahead of the move and donate them to the local refuge centre for women, I'm sure they will make better use of them than me.

  • Yeah I might do the same, that's a good idea.

No point moving stuff I'm not gonna use.

Got a letter from the solicitor confirming the factor fees and insurance that is included with them for the building. Off to read that now.
  • So car insurance is due to renew this month. Got a renewal quote in for £281.12.

Contacted them cos compare the market emailed me with a quote for £238.73 and they have matched the price. That will come out in on lump sum payment soon so just need to make sure the money is in the right account for that.
  • Thats a nice discount on your car insurance, definitely better in your pocket than theirs!  I usually pay mine annually as it's cheaper but will see where we are with the debts and move as my EF now stands at just £500 which won't get us very far.  We are fortunate to have a lot of equity in our current home, so we will still have spare cash for furniture etc even after we have put a hefty deposit down.  I think it will be a juggling act for the next few months now.

  • Yeah it defo is. I think my insurance is going to go up a little bit when I move but even then it's still good that I got them down on the price a bit.
  • So this morning my little Primrose (car) has got something wrong with her. Her engine warning light is on, it was shuddering a bit when I first started the engine then when I was driving the ABS light came on.

Called and got her booked into a VW and Audi local specialist on Monday morning so will be driving as little as possible or even not at all until I am taking it to the garage.

Hoping it's not gonna cost a fortune to fix.
  • So my cousin recommended me a garage locally and they can take her tomorrow so going to drop it off at 8:30am and they will plug her in to the diagnostic thingymajig and then let me know what she needs.
  • Primrose has a faulty timing chain and it is going to cost me about £600 to fix her.

Going to be off the road for a couple of weeks.

    I'll be lost without her.
  • Sorry to hear of your car trouble @Deleted_User, they certainly are costly when things go wrong.  I hope she’s fixed soon and back with you, I know what you mean about being lost without her... not sure what I’d do without mine!

    Hope you’re doing ok? Xx

Yeah I'm doing alright. The quote to fix her came in at £560.00 so a little less than I was initially told but still a lot.

Just sorting through the funds right now to see what I can now afford to spend on furniture and stuff for the flat.

Requested the closure of my H2B ISA with Nationwide today. It says on their website that you can do it in branch or by sending them a message via your online account. When I logged in it allowed me to request the closure of the account in my online banking so just did it that way but now I'm stressing I haven't done it properly - aaaaaaah!

It did say that if you are closing a H2B ISA they will send the statement within 7 days of closing the account so I will just need to hope that their online information is wrong and it will all be okay.
