PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. will I have to pay penalty? If your solicitor does not have all the funds to pay for your purchase, he will not be able to purchase the property. He's not going to use his own money for your purchase! So Completion won't happen, and as you've Exchanged, you'll pay penalties for failing to Complete.ps - when I said earlier to provide hourly updates, that was tongue-in-cheek, not to be taken literally......6 -

Having been through similar levels of stress as the OP re: exchange I can understand why they are turning to the forum for reassurance/advice. I can't remember if the OP is a FTB but, if so, we do need a lot of hand-holding at times

Slip, pay a bit more than the estimated amount you'll get ut back and better that than it all fails. Not impressed with your solicitor.0

Yes, please do update us Slip. I can well understand why you needed to turn to us for moral support. Don't leave us hanging...

Hopefully the silence is because Slip moved and hence is now without internet for a few days, and/or they packed their computer away in one of 203 boxes and havent found it yet.

Panic must be over. Perhaps a little bit behind with the day job. Having spent much of the working day on personal matters recently.1
