Trying again to exchange. If it doesn’t get exchanged today will ask the EA to change completion date to next Friday 12th March.
Is there a reason you're so set on a Friday? It's the 'usual' day for completion because it means you've got the weekend after to unpack, but if you're keen to move ASAP then completion can be any week day.
I don’t really mind what day the completion is but if we change completion date tomorrow the solicitors will require at least a week to exchange and complete. They will need to re submit mortgage money and some lenders require at least five days notice. Tomorrow request change completion date, hopefully exchange on Thursday for completion next Friday.

Fingers crossed for you Slips, let us know what happens.

TBH I’m not really having high expectations today, the buyers trainee conveyancer doesn’t seem to be doing much to get things moving towards exchange. The EA emailed the conveyancer this morning and yesterday morning and afternoon  but seems to get no reply, I told her to phone her if no reply to her email.
lot depends on EA to push things but my one seems to rely on emails which rarely gets any replies.

Glimmer of hope, the buyers solicitor rang him to put in place building insurance in anticipation of exchange today.
I not received anything from my solicitor.

As I understand it Slips36, the exchange is agreed between the solicitors.  I don't think your EA is able to do anything now - except have the keys ready for you upon completion. I've not heard a dicky bird, just packing boxes still in optimistic hope it will happen soon.
