MOT etc is always of of those “known unknowns” eh LMD? There’s gonna be some cost but you never quite sure how much the final bill might be. It’s good that you had the required money in your emergency fund and it’s always a good cost to have out of the way.

Happy Tuesday guys and gals, the sun's not here at the moment but it's trying to make it's way through the clouds, the birds are singing and I can see 2 squirrels chasing each other through the trees. This makes me happy
Today I have counted the PADs and send £2 to CC7 and £5 to the sealed pot. I have decided that any surplus in the accounts at the end of this month will be sent to the EF to try and pay back the MOT costs. Not sure if there will be any, as it's still 2 weeks to pay day but I like to be cautiously optimistic these days
Today will be a NSD, I have a busy day at work and then I have the housework to do before making tonight's dinner. I sold another item on Vinted late yesterday afternoon so I posted that after I finished work last night. I definitely won't get poor feedback for speed of posting!
Nothing much else to report, the accounts are looking OK-ish for this time of the fiscal month and I'm currently happy with my projected debt clearing levels. So I'm off for some coffee and cereal before my work day begins.

Good morning MSE-ers, it's due to be another lovely day weather-wise today and it's going to get scorchio by the end of the week (yay)
PADs made and bills today, phone bill, £1 to CC7 and £18 standing order to the sealed pot. Yesterday wasn't a NSD as I needed some new knickers and had to pick up some toothpaste for the dog. So, today WILL be a NSD for me.
After spending yesterday, I don't think there will be much left in the accounts at pay day. I must try better next month, and when did pants get so expensive?! I am off to stay with family this weekend so will be low spends anyway, and with hubby away I will be pottering in the house and garden rather than going out so should get some more NSD's in before pay day
Hope you all have a lovely day!

So, I am 6 weeks to the end of my energy fixed tariff and this morning I've had an email from Eon with my estimated costs after our fixed term is over... I have been dreading this and I opened it with baited breath given that some of the estimates I got from our usage quoted over £600 a month!!
Anyway, it will increase by £110 a month, which in all fairness is a massive relief. This is based on actual usage too so I'm hoping we can just carry on as we are as the additional is affordable (hubby can cover the increase). Something else I have been worrying about in the background ending up not as bad as I had been imagining!

It's crazy atm with energy prices. We are PAYG you for electric and last year we would top up 30 every other fortnight (that was when my wife and I were both working from home, whereas I'm in office at least 2 days a week now) and we're now lucky if £20 lasts us a week!2

I guess it is good news that the increase is less than you thought.
Still not great news that it is an increase though of course.
We have managed to escape a payment increase this time but it will certainly increase in October when the next price cap adjustments are made, although I hope the £400 energy rebate will soak up some of the increase for us.1 -
Totally crazy prices and I was definitely expecting a lot worse...
I had forgotten about the £400 rebate RS, thanks for the reminderthere's no point fixing for us at the moment so I guess we will have to re-evaluate in October too!

We will just ride it out on the variable rate and hope for the best.1 -
The dreaded fuel cost rises are another of those “known unknowns”. Putting aside what I can for when the inevitable price rises kick in. Glad your increase wasn’t as bad as you expected LMD27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 52
