The dreaded fuel cost rises are another of those “known unknowns”. Putting aside what I can for when the inevitable price rises kick in.  Glad your increase wasn’t as bad as you expected LMD
Yeah I think we will be able to carry on as we are for the meantime. Hubby pays less than half the bills at the moment anyway so he was fine to increase his contributions

  • Good morning all, I have been up early today and already have 2 loads of washing on the line in the sunshine... Doggo is currently keeping an eye on it from a sunny spot :D

£1 PAD to CC7 this morning, I am waiting for another Vinted payment to hit my bank and then I'm going to go and use that to have a few games of bingo with my sister next week.

There are still 11 days to go until pay day. By my reckoning this gives me about £15 a day available (including the £30 from Vinted) so given that I want to have another 7 no spend days by the end of the month, if I can get these in before pay day I will have some surplus to send back to the EF.

Given that hubby is away though, I may be asked to go out with friends so it depends on how lonely I get, although I am usually good with my own company :)

I hope you all have a lovely sunny day!

  • Had a few Christmas presents delivered today that I ordered last week :) I'd completely forgotten about them so that's a bonus!  I'm collecting quite a few now. I won't wrap until November though :D

Go you being so organised.  My wife mentioned to me about Christmas stuff for our daughter last night also.

I don't feel like Xmas should be a thing until September (Pre parent hood I was a 1st December Xmas shopper!!/)
  • I’ve always tried to get everything done and wrapped and written before December 1st so I can actually enjoy the festive period. Cards get posted on 1st December too.

I actually started Christmas shopping in February as when I see something that’s suitable I buy it and pop it away :)

We have wrapped some Christmas presents already 🤣🤣🤣

Reminds me I need to start looking for cheap Christmas decorations as well. Best time of year to buy them.
  • We bought a lot of new decorations last year as there was more house to decorate.  Well done for wrapping! I daren’t in case they get wrinkled. I’m particular about the wrapping, and “there’s always time for a bow!” :D

Although £110 isn't a small increase, it's so so much better than £600! So glad that it's based on actual usage and you're able to have it covered by your husband's contribution. I'm scared for the increases in October, as every few days I look at the MSE Engery Club site and everything is always £100s more than what I pay now  :#.

I can't believe you're all so organised with Christmas. I aim to be like that for next year. This year, I'll just wing it as usual  :D. Although I did buy all my wrapping paper in the January sales, so I guess that's something  B):).

  • Good morning and happy Friday! Today I will be travelling to see family so I am not sure if it will be a NSD or not, so I will declare one way or another either this evening (if I have time) or tomorrow morning.

    It's Friday Finance Update time
    • Cash £5
    • Bills account £69.56
    • Spends account £192.87
    • EF £272.28
    • Sealed pot £2047.63
    • Gift cards £445.07
    • CC7 £7187
Target debt free date remains at 27 September 2023, but according to my debt planner this may be beaten by a month.

£1 PAD sent to CC7 today, this will be consistent now until pay day as I want to replenish the EF with any spare cash at the end of the month. But, £1 is better than nothing so I'm happy with that, it's all a matter of 'beating the interest' anyway, so as long as  I'm on a 0% promotional deal I am winning. :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day, keep safe from the heat and wear sunscreen!
