  • After going out last night, I had planned for today being a NSD. This isn't the case as I spotted a board game I have been after for a while on offer for £23 instead of £40. So I bought it. I felt it was a decent saving and board games are always good for when you can't afford to go out :D

Other than that, I made my £3 PAD to CC7 this morning and everything is looking OK.  Last night out with friends was good, we have arranged to meet again next week, but to drive as that will save £20 in taxi fares. I don't mind taxi-ing every now and again, but if it's going to be every week I think it's a bit excessive.

Today has been busy work wise and I am only just having my lunch break, I've tried to stop watching the news these last few days as it really makes me anxious, upset and feel helpless. Social media seems to be full of overnight experts too, offering their controversial 2-penneth. I feel like taking a sabbatical from Faceache...

Not exactly a positive post today, but you have to take the rough with the smooth! At least the sun is shining today.

  • Good morning, I feel like I had a good night's sleep and have woken in a much more positive mood today.

Part of my SPC is the 1p challenge, but I do this backwards so I start with £3.65 on 1st Jan and then 1p on 31st December - This is because there is a lot to pay for in December (xmas, car service and car tax) so the pennies per day is much easier to save then. I manage these in separate pots now that I've discovered the wonders of Monzo.

PAD made today, this was the rest of the month's allocation of 1p challenge and a bank round down to CC7.

Today will be a NSD, tomorrow is set to be the same.  Having a new tattoo (my birthday present to myself) on Saturday and then grocery shopping on Sunday so the weekend ahead will be a little spendy.

Hope everyone has a lovely day :)

  • Happy Friday!

I've been awake since 5am and I'm off work today, typical! I had forgotten I had booked the day off, then realised the reason I was off - hair appointment ... so today won't be a NSD as planned.

    Here's the Friday finance update:
    CC7 £8,265.80
Total credit available £67,600 (12% used)
    Bills account £485
    Spends account £160
    Cash £104
    Sealed pot £1283.37
    DFBXMAS - 5365.50/£8000
    EF £77.01
Debt free day 26 May 2023 - 440 days to go at £18.78 per day.

It's highly likely that my DFD will move out due to the increased cost of living we will be experiencing over the next year or so.  Having said that, I would rather an increased cost of living than a nuclear war... or any war for that matter.  CC7 is 0% until 4/10/23 so there's wriggle room if needed.

My PADs today have been little bank round downs, one to CC7 and one to the SPC. It will remain little ones now until pay day as there are a couple of bills still to come out and we have 4 social events over the next 2 weeks. March is an exceptionally busy month with birthdays! Although it includes my own so I can't really complain too much :D

I've heard that there's panic buying of fuel again, and it always seems to happen when I genuinely need some as my hairdressers is a 40 mile round trip and I don't have much in the tank.

Still no confirmation on the pay rise, I'm wondering if the rumour was started by someone's wishful thinking :(

I hope everyone has a cracking Friday

Thank you! It’s not until the end of the month so I can kid myself I’m a bit younger for a few more weeks. :D

  • Good morning, I've been awake since 6am again - blinking' dog!  next door have just got some puppies and I think he can hear them which is why he's waking early (I'm glad we can't hear them, they're quite yappy!)

PADs counted and my offering today was £3.38 to CC7. Not much, but every bit helps and I knew it was going to be a run of smaller ones til payday so that's fine with me.  The whole point is to chip away with little extra amounts.

I didn't spend as much as I thought at the hairdressers as she said it didn't really need a cut this time.  I'm sure the cost of fuel will offset the savings. :#

Off for my tattoo at 9am and then meeting up with a friend for a natter and catch up. Need to walk the dog before then so I'd better get a move on.

    Hope everyone's doing OK?

  • Happy Sunday everyone! I'm not sure where the sunshine has gone, it's looking decidedly miserable out there...

Off out with hubby today for a potter as he's just finished a set of shifts, it will be nice to spend some quality time together. That is when he decides to get up, I can hear him snoring 2 floors away :D

There was just my little PAD to count from yesterday, I think everyone is starting to feel the pinch of the rise in the cost of living. My PAD today was £2.90 to CC7.  I have updated my tracker and I can already see that the final CC7 payment is creeping down towards the £1k mark, hopefully by the time the final payment comes I will have gotten it down to maybe £700 or so.

I didn't have a great night's sleep but I think that was down to the fresh tattoo so I should sleep much better tonight :)

No change to the credit reports, my CC companies keep emailing with 0% deals so I figure I must still be credit worthy!

I hope everyone has a good day, whatever you're up to.

  • Yesterday turned out to be quite spendy for hubby and I, but I can honestly say it was one of the best days we have had for a really long time so I don't regret it. It was quality time spent together and made a refreshing change.  We had lunch out too which was delightful and meant I didn't have to cook Sunday dinner yesterday evening.

PAD this morning was £9.50 to CC7, if only there had been another 2p to round down it would have been a very satisfying balance for my OCD :D

Today will not be a NSD, nor tomorrow as we have plans with friends in the evenings, but Weds, Thurs and Fri will be - and I definitely don't have any more surprise beauty appointments hahaha.  All meals are in the fridge/freezer and cupboard and I have no plans.

10 days to pay day, 3 social events within that too, so I do need to keep a track of what I'm spending and perhaps make more frugal choices whilst I'm out.

    Have a great Monday
