Hammered down here first thing but was dry and very blowy for the rest of it.
I made the terrible mistake of thinking a Yorkshire woman (friend’s mother in law) was a Lancastrian earlier LMD. Thought I’d be clever and try to detect her whereabouts from her accent. I always thought you Yorkshire folk said things like ‘On’t bridge’ rather than ‘On the bridge’ but it’s clearly a bit more nuanced than I thought! Next time in a similar situation I’ll just guess ‘The North’!
Lovely people though. Very down to earth and I think much more friendly than us West Country people. I was soon forgiven.
17 days is less than two and a half weeks. The achievement of clearing over £42k of debt will take some time to sink in I’m sure.

  • Oh Antomac, that made me chuckle :D There are definite differences when you live 'up here' even from one city to the next. As I am sure is the same in the West Country.

Today will be a NSD for me, nothing planned after the spendy weekend it's going to be a quiet week. I have tickets to a show next weekend, I am off to see Russell Howard. One of my favourites and this will be the 4th of his shows I have seen over the years.

I sent £6 to the credit card as my PAD this morning, took some head scratching with the spreadsheet this morning as the weekend spending hasn't left the account yet. I'm sure I've accounted for everything but there's always a chance I have forgotten something.

    Hope you're all doing well

  • Morning :) I only have 2 weeks til pay day so I decided to pay a heftier PAD today. £15 sent to the credit card and we are now down to just £220 left outstanding.  My sister asked me if I wanted to go shopping with her tonight at the big shopping centre and I stood my ground and said no, because I would only end up spending money on stuff I didn't need. I did offer to meet her before for a coffee but we decided against that as it would be rush hour and quite a bit of travelling. The shopping centre is mid way between our homes.

Today will be a NSD, just going to chill out and watch the football tonight, which is easy as a neutral fan :) Dinner is already in the slow cooker, a bolognese made from scratch with lean mince so it's not bad for the weight loss, with wholemeal pasta.  I'm getting into the habit of making better choices about my food.

Not much more to add in terms of updates, so I will catch you all later :)

Have you found that since having debts to deal with, you actually don't like shopping anymore?  I hate shopping with a passion now, even food shopping is a pain in the neck these days. The thought of going in a large shopping centre actually fills me with dread now. Maybe its as I've got older? Or maybe covid had something to do with it?  Who knows.
