Have you found that since having debts to deal with, you actually don't like shopping anymore?  I hate shopping with a passion now, even food shopping is a pain in the neck these days. The thought of going in a large shopping centre actually fills me with dread now. Maybe its as I've got older? Or maybe covid had something to do with it?  Who knows.
I do still like shopping if I have something I need to buy, but I think the debt has made me have a dislike for 'shopping for shopping's sake'. I would much rather meet a friend for coffee, or a glass of wine. Or go to the cinema.  I think selling things on Vinted has helped too as it's made me realise just how much 'stuff' I have which I either don't need or don't use. (and let's not even talk about 2nd hand values - eek!)

LMD I have followed your diary you have done so well, debt free in a matter of days!!  You have helped keep me on the straight and narrow especially with keeping up with surveys.  I hope that you are going to write all about your weight journey I am sure you will encourage any that want to loose weight. Enjoy your pasta and bolognese, its mushroom risotto for me.
Thanks for following, it's not exactly been a thriller of a novel but I am glad of the support!  I will be posting about my weight loss in the future, I am planning a 'new me' diary on the saving boards and when I close this debt-free diary I will add the link in case you want to check in on how that's going.

To date (in 2 weeks) I have lost 10.8 lbs which is good going, I am due to weigh in again on Sunday as I have the NHS better health app now and the week ends on Sunday so I will weigh in Sunday mornings. I haven't really noticed a difference yet, but I have an awful lot to lose.  Covid and working from home certainly didn't help, as when I was in the office I would take a walk of the grounds 3-4 times a day with a colleague.  I feel like I need to add a disclaimer that I am not a security guard :D

I agree about selling stuff and buying 2nd hand. Never buy new now unless I have to. My go to shops are the Bay of E and FB...lol

  • Spag bol was one of my go to's when I followed Slimming World. I started calorie counting the beginning of the year and the calories in a portion of pasta blew my mind. When I say portion, I mean my half a packet of spaghetti!! I still enjoy it but I weigh my pasta now

I'm so happy for you with the healthy eating and weight loss, it makes such a difference to how we feel when we treat our bodies better. I really need to make some changes myself.

I'm also super excited that you're just a matter of days away from being debt free. I am so inspired and impressed by your progress. It'll definitely feel strange for a while when it's all gone, but what an achievement that will be. £42k to £0 debt.

  • Morning! Thanks for everyone's kind words :) I'm still confused over the days this week, there's lots to do today as hubby is away again and my friend is coming to stay so I need to clean up and make up the spare bed. At least with hubby away once I have cleaned up it will stay that way :D

Today's PAD is £10 to CC7 and there's nothing available anywhere else at the moment. I don't have any plans to spend until Saturday so today is a NSD for me. Not much to update on really in terms of finances, just plodding along until pay day (aka DFD!)

    Catch you all later

  • £6 cash out from Prolific so that's been sent to the credit card.

  • Hiya everyone and happy Friday! I hope you're all doing well?

I've another NSD today, it's a busy day at work and then my friend is arriving when I'm done. We haven't caught up in a while so it will be a very chatty night I think and not an early one! I've sent £15 to the credit card due to having a run of NSDs, it also rounded down the bank account which satisfies my OCD somewhat.

Nothing available in Prolific to cash out but I will keep checking it just in case something lands as there's plenty pending.

Still on with the healthy eating, mainly eating salads, fruit and fat free yogurts. I'm cooking tonight and it will be chicken and steamed veg with a low fat home made mediterranean sauce.

I hope you all have great days!

Have a good evening with your friend. Can't believe how quickly your debt is going down. I can't wait to be in that situation.
