  • Good morning all, just a quick update from me today as I am feeling under the weather and can't stop sneezing. I think it's hayfever as I feel itchy and swollen too. Didn't get much sleep due to snivelling so I'm shattered on top of that.

Today's PAD included £9 to the credit card but today will be spendy for me as we are out for dinner tonight. We have plans tomorrow too as long as I am feeling OK but I will make up for it later in the week.

That's all from me. Going to take the dog out mid-morning as I have back to back calls over and after lunch. Not the best Monday ahead, especially when I feel like this.

    Hope you're all well

  • Good morning everyone. I had another night of snivelling and sneezing... starting to wonder if it's a cold? Antihistamines aren't working so far but I take them regularly because I am allergic to the dog so not sure if that's screwed my system.

Today will be a NSD as we no longer have plans this evening. I have sent £6 to the credit card as my PAD and there's nothing to cash out from anywhere yet. It's probably going to be slow until pay day now, but I don't mind really as it's the final countdown.

It's a good time to have available cash as the car insurance is due and for some frustrating reason the premium seems to be £100 more than last year, no matter where I search.  Could it be the windscreen claim I had? I didn't think that was supposed to impact premiums... it's all changed since I worked in the insurance industry so i have no idea.  Anyway. it seems that we know where the spare cash will be going next month!

That's all from my update, hope you all have lovely days.

A windscreen claim doesn't affect your no claims but it does still affect your premium.

We found this out when we last claimed for a windscreen in my old car. It would have been cheaper for us to pay for the replacement screen ourselves when you add up the extra premiums over the next few years!!
  • Thanks RS, at least I know why now and. Can stop scratching my head over it. It is what it is I guess. It cracked from the cold weather so nobody at fault. I’ll just have to suck it up.

I also take antihistamines all year, due to allergies, but this last few days has been a nightmare. Pollen count is up and its windy and its all blowing everywhere. Just been chatting to a lady in a local shop, and said to her not to worry, I don't have a cold, just silly allergies. I can get through so many tissues just walking down the shops and back. Strangely, the cold weather does it to me as well. Allergies are strange and definitely get worse as we get older.

The new bit is fabulous! The Botanist has opened now and we love the Salt House… we always think it feels like somewhere you’d go when you’re on holiday.

  • Happy Wednesday! This week is absolutely flying by...I don't seem to have got as much stuff done as I wanted, although thanks to the glorious weather yesterday we have an empty laundry basket! :)

I've sent £6 to the credit card this morning as my PAD, nothing available to cash out on Prolific yet, but £3 approved and £13+ pending so there may be an opportunity to cash out later today.

It will be a NSD for me today, it's getting to the end of the month so there's less available to use. Plus, I am out on Saturday and Sunday and will need money for those.  Not had much in the way of interest on Vinted lately so I will see what I can do there, maybe cross list on facebook groups.

I've lost another 2lb this week so that's good. I'm still trying hard to eat healthily but it's noticeable on the grocery shopping costs. Hubby is trying to be supportive but I know he doesn't really enjoy salad and veg!

Off to work I go, have good days ahead

Have a good day. Cold and windy here, but hope the sun will come out soon.
