Weekend has had its ups and downs money-wise. I managed to snag 2 claws on my engagement ring and the stone came loose so that’s a £250 repair bill but it’s safe at the jewellers and at least I’m not having to replace the diamond!  This does mean that I won’t be able to get my debts below the £16k Mark this month, but I’ll still pay as much as I can before payday... just keep plugging away at it.

On the up side, the weekend hasn’t been ‘spendy’ apart from the jewellers. So that’s good. We have spent most of the weekend packing up items we aren’t using (very optimistic haha!) and sorting, with a few runs to the household waste and recycling depot.

I’ve been awake since about 4am, not entirely sure why... so I’m pooped now and think I’m heading to bed to read.

Other good news this weekend is that I’ve had a credit report update and I’m now in the ‘good’ bracket which pretty much made my day.

Hope everyone’s had a good weekend

  • Hello LMD, I'm part way through your diary and will catch up soon. Just to say what a shame about the engagement ring and the knock on re debt payment.
Great news about the credit score. Well done 👍

Ah, thanks so much for popping by @CivilisedServant, your visit is very welcome. Yeah I was really mad at myself for letting it snag but pleased that the diamond didn’t go walkies! That would’ve been a lot worse...

I’m really chuffed about the credit score. :D

  • Not been able to update much this week as work has been manic and I've really not felt up to it. On Weds morning we were advised that there is an issue with the move and I have a feeling that the chain is going to collapse.  I am trying not to think about it too much and let the solicitors try and sort it, as I don't really understand the complexities.

In debt news, I have had the last credit card statement generated for the month and I have paid that this morning, it's on 0% so just a small payment as the overpayments go to CC1 and CC2 which are still generating interest.

Having updated my signature, I am so close to getting under that £16k mark I can almost taste it.  It's possible to reach it with my daily PADs but I am not sure so I will just keep plugging away at it and see where we get to by 24th.   Not due any survey payments or anything to help and this month the bank account feels quite sparse already. Only time will tell.

Today will be a NSD, all meals are planned and in the cupboards for the rest of the week. I have no plans to go anywhere except to walk the dog and at the weekend I will do a grocery shop.

    Hope everyone's doing ok

So close to that £16k mark. You will hit that before you know it :)
  • Made a slightly larger PAD today to CC1 so I can actually see the £16k milestone being hit.  I need to order the food shop today so I think if there's any left over out of the budget I will add that as an additional payment too.  If it was budgeted for it means I wasn't relying on it, so that makes sense to me.

I have no plans at all this weekend except for more packing and weeding the garden, they seem to have sprung up from absolutely nowhere! I'm blaming all the rain followed by the gorgeous weather we have been having this last week. Anyway, that should keep me busy and my mind suitably occupied :)

Hope you all have a good weekend, whatever your plans may be

  • £13.75 under budget on the shopping so that's heading to CC1 :D

  • After this morning's PAD I feel confident I can beat the £16k mark this month, only £13.14 to go which seems completely reasonable with bank rounding down for the next 2 weeks.

Today has been a mixed bag. Lots of cleaning and sorting done this morning and then we settled to watch the football.  The horrific scenes of the Denmark Finland game really knocked us for 6 and reminded me that life is fragile. I'm glad he is stable :)

No news on the house yesterday so it's all still a bit up in the air.  I don't expect any further updates until mid-next-week as our solicitor is on annual leave until Weds.  It's all very stressful and not something I want to do again in a hurry :D  (or EVER)

Hope you've all had a good day, the weather has been glorious! I've had 3 loads of washing through and on the line!
