  • Good morning and hello Payday...

I have been awake since silly-o'clock and have already started on the laundry :D  I've sorted payments out and the total for my PAD today is a whopping £1118.13 to cards.  Will update my signature now too with the new balances..

Feels good to make some big payments again and feel like I'm getting somewhere :)

Know what you mean about pay day. I'm much the same. Rich for a day and then it all goes out of the account again :)

    Pay day for me tomorrow.
  • It’s nice to be paid before a bank holiday, especially as it looks like it’s going to be nice in terms of weather.  We plan to have a walk to the local for a few beers and maybe some food on Monday.  The rest of the weekend will probably be packing, sorting and grumbling about solicitors 🤣

  • Well, having just checked the balance for CC1 it seems that they have refunded £370 in interest. So the text I received was genuine and my balance is heading way down to the £1k mark wehey!! I still made a bank round down payment to CC1 too and will continue to do so for the rest of the month.

Today hasn’t been a NSD as we have ordered some furniture for the new house. It’s taken us a long time to decide and agree so it’s not a rushed decision and I’m confident we made the right choices. I think the key is not to impulse buy as we may regret the choice later and have to either live with hating it or pay to replace.

Anyway, just wanted to share the interest refund news :D

  • So here's to the end of a fabulous bank holiday weekend.  There has been a lot of laughs, reminiscing, drinks and enjoying the up-turn in the weather. It's been a really good weekend and I'm sad its over and I have to go back to work (we are still holding out for that big lottery win haha!).

This week coming I will be chasing the solicitor on a daily basis, this dragging on can't be sustained and it's not helping my mental health at all!  Hubby is working nights so that gives me a good few nights of sorting and packing,

All remains to be seen...  I should get the last 2 CC statements this week too so additional payments can be made there.  Those payments should see my total balance fall below the £16k mark this month :D

    Have a good evening

Your CC balances are coming down nicely.
  • Thanks, it's so encouraging tracking the progress and posting in this forum, I can't understand why I stopped before.  Probably due to some big issue I had to deal with which spun me into a spending black hole... Once the cards are sorted I will be either tackling hubby cards or the mortgage.  Probably the cards due to the interest in all honesty.  We are both looking forward to the day when we only have 'good' debt outstanding.  We are both earning decent salaries and there's no reason why we should buy anything on credit now so it's a good point in time to clear what's owed and start afresh.

I hope you had a good weekend in the van - weather was amazing!

We had a brilliant weekend thank you. The weather was great and we caught up with lots of boaty friends through out the weekend as well. Was nice to see people again and get back to some sort of normality again.
  • I agree that it's nice to be sociable again! It has really lifted my spirits this weekend :)

  • So it’s the end of another week. I’m thankful for the weather to lift our spirits! No news on the house, PADding has chipped away at that pesky CC1 and other statements should be generated next week.

I’ve got 2 loads of washing on the line and the dog is laid wit’s his head in the sunny spot on the floor 🙃 why do they always do that?

    Have a good weekend everyone
