Happy Monday fellow forumers
It's finally pay-day eve and I am looking forward to tomorrow. May is my 'insurance' month so a big chunk of my april wage will be paying the annual insurance payments, home, car, pet. I also need to stash some money into the 'moving pot' for removal men and a bit of furniture.
The car boot sale yesterday went well and we were almost sold up by 9:30, a few odd bits left to drop off at the charity shop and we are £150 better off for it (gone to the moving pot) plus we have less clutter to move and an almost empty shed!
Hope everyone ad a lovely weekend? The weather certainly seems to be turning for the better and I can see some evenings in the garden in the not too distant future.
TTFN

Hurrah for pay day! Payments made for CC1 and CC6 this morning. Awaiting the other 2 statements to be generated. This pay day will be a NSD for me. Aside from walking the pooch I have no plans at all and the food stocks are looking good so no need to buy anything. At some point I will need to venture out to non-essential shops and spend my Christmas and birthday gift cards
but that can wait until the novelty has worn off for everyone else!!
No news on the move. I think I’ll just stop checking the customer portal for the solicitors, it’s too disheartening.it’s been a really long 10.5 weeks and according to the solicitors a completion date won’t be agreed soon.

Morning campers
I've been updating my budget spreadsheet this morning (the joys of not being able to sleep) and I've now paid off £14k of debt since July 2020, it was all tallied up in a column to the far right of the spreadsheet and I hadn't noticed it lately
I am so proud of what I have achieved so far and in such a short amount of time.
I never use my cards for spending, I'm just paying off past idiocy and purposeful ignorance as I had buried my head in the sand and thought that if I didn't think about it, it would be OK. Finally owning up to hubby helped, and I believe lockdown has meant I've paid off more than I ever would have been able to in the past. Not that I'm commending the pandemic in the slightest, it's been a horrendous time for everyone, and continues to be for many, I have been watching the news this morning with the heartbreaking stories from India.
Today will be a NSD, all I have planned is working from home, walking the dog and eating from supplies we already have in. Insanely busy at work at the moment so the days fly by.
Mixed update today with good and gloomy content, I feel like it's a Jerry Maguire bad pizza moment so I apologise for that!
Stay safe and well
LMD xx

I've joined a few debt free challenges; payment a day (which I did before and found it addictive) and 3-6 month emergency fund. Hoping these will help keep me on track and encourage bank round downs to the CC1 which is much easier to make extra payments on.
So, there'll be no more NSD's as I will be making payments daily, but I think in the long run it will be worth it.
The PADding will keep my bank balance nice and rounded but those pennies on the end of CC1 total are already niggling my OCDI will just have to put up with it knowing that it'll be reducing my interest a little bit.
No other updates, on debts or house move. Today's weather looks a bit grim at the moment so dog walk later when hopfully it's a little brighter.

I love the debt column showing total paid as well and find it motivating when I don’t really feel like I’m making progress.£14k is brilliant progress and your health plans sound like they’re going really well.April 2020 - £102,222 Loans/CC’s.
Jan 2022 - £0
Cleared - £102,222
Jan 2022 - Now time to build suitable investments and a business!2 -
Thank you! I’m really pleased with the progress so far and should be able to pay another 5-6k off when we get the funds from the house sale. This will leave the majority on 0% which doesn’t concern me as much to be honest. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!LMD xLife gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25712

Back to the grindstone after a nice 3 day weekend (the 3 days being nice, not the bloomin' weather...) I always seem to spend the week after a bank holiday in a state of confusion over what day it is
We are hoping to get some news on the house move this week, there are probably more things we can do to prep, like boxing up things we don't use but I have a feeling that due to us regularly de-cluttering the house it won't take very long to pack it up. I've been PADding again to CC1, it's nice to see the balance dropping down and I'm sure I will notice the difference come statement time.
Nothing else to report, it's been a very relaxing weekend
