  • Goooood morning! We have a dusting of snow today which means that the dog won’t go out, he just trots back to his snuggly bed... I know exactly how he feels!

Final card statement generated so paid that this morning. That’s all the payments made for the month now we are into the loooong stretch to pay day.

Still no news on the house move. I’m away in my family’s holiday home next week. Just me and the dog for some relaxation and a change of scenery.  Should be a chance to chill and some brisk walks will blow away the cobwebs.

Need to get on top of the housework today and do some more sorting out for the car boot so we aren’t moving stuff we won’t end up keeping.

I found the declutter before we moved really very therapeutic. 😀

Yes I’m hoping to be able to clear a lot of ‘stuff’ we have accumulated over the years

  • Well, I've had a lovely week off... however no changes to my debt position other than an increase in my credit score by 10 points, every little helps :)

Looking forward to getting back to work as my brain seems to have stopped functioning at full capacity and I think it needs a kick start!

Had some more paperwork from the solicitor on the house move so they have been signed, scanned and sent back. Being off work and having a little holiday has meant that I have spent more than usual this month, but there should still be a few hundred to be put to the house moving fund by the time pay day arrives.

May is insurance month, with car and home insurance due one the same day.  I pay annually as it's cheaper so any spare money in May will have to be added once the insurance payments have come out mid-month.

I will do some comparisons and see if my current providers will match them :D ... If you don't ask you don't get!

So much of a kick start needed that I started work at 6:30 this morning!  Once I was awake I couldn't get back to sleep...

  • Mid-week update from me, no changes to debts and we have received a 'how to avoid fraud when handling property transactions' pack from our solicitor so I am hopeful that we are close to the point where we can exchange contracts.  It seems to be a long time since we had our offer accepted :(

I am finally off to the hairdressers later today - it's been 11 months since my last cut and I think it's going to be the highlight of my day! :D

We spent the majority of last year shielding so we are also looking forward to a visit to a pub this weekend coming and perhaps a garden session with one of our friends if the weather allows.

Week off seems a distant memory already, doesn't take long does it? Work is as manic as ever.

    Have a lovely day

  • Feels good to have my hair cut. I colour it myself to save money, even though I find it such a chore :D

Made an extra £50 payment to CC1 today as I realise it's only 4 more days to pay day and the accounts are looking fairly healthy.

No more news other than that.  I've already got 2 loads of washing on the line as it's going to be a gorgeous day weather-wise, may even get another through this afternoon!

  • It was going to be a NSD for me today but...

I looked out the window at my filthy, not cleaned since November car and decided a trip to the £5 hand car wash would be a good idea.  Now it's GLEAMING and so shiny in the sun :)  £5 well spent I think.

The other half is outside giving mine a quick wash now before it heads up to Scotland :D

He did the inside yesterday and even washed all of the seats. It has come up well. It's a shame to get rid of it now!!
  • I’m not even thinking about the inside of mine given the number of tip runs to do and a car boot this weekend... perhaps after 😂
