  • I think you are.

I've spent so much money these last few weeks but it's to be expected so I'm not too stressed about it.

I think we will have quite a bit to spend just before and when we finally move which is why I'm going to pay less off my cc's for the next few months (instead of pretty much ALL my spare money) and build a moving house fund to pay for the removal services, few days of kennelling and in case anything goes wrong.

Moving house is always more expensive than you think it will be!!
  • Yeah! It’s a long Time since we last moved and you tend to forget about all the little things that you end up having to pay for.  I just dont want to have to put anything on the cc’s and would rather have a little fund.

  • Yup it is very expensive - but 100% worth it.
  • Thanks, I am certain it will be worth it. I simply can't wait to move and have more space, plus the garden is amazing and will be great in summertime.
No plans today apart from working from home and walking the dog. Not going anywhere so there'll be no spending... hubby will be watching the footy tonight so I might arrange a family zoom call if anyone's free.

  • First of the month and it's bills day! So the bank balance has taken a bit of a battering... I have no plans for the weekend though apart from the grocery shopping so should be a non-spendy weekend.

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend :)

  • Well, what a lovely weekend it has been. I've not had 4 days off since Christmas so that's been a nice little break. I'm off next week as well :)

Payment made to CC2 this morning as the statement has been generated. Just one more statement due and then waiting for pay day again.  Haven't heard anything on the house move for ages now and hubby needs to book his holidays for the new job so wondering whether to contact the solicitor and see if they can shed any light on the likelihood of an April move...

Been sorting some more stuff out to add on selling sites and if not we can take to a car-boot when they are open again - not sure when that will be as it's not clear on the restrictions.

    Have a lovely day

  • A no spend day is planned for today, we have plenty of food in the fridge, no plans to go anywhere and at the moment all I feel I need to do is sleep... didn't get much sleep last night as my mind was busy with work but hopefully being off next week will help me chill out a bit.

No update on house move and no more debt busting to report on.

  • Have chased our solicitors and they are waiting for contract details from the vendor's solicitor, they have sent a chaser and I am hoping for some news next week, although tomorrow would be good! :)

Called CC3 as my statement has been generated and I was expecting it to be £0 as I had paid the balance in full, but there was £8-odd interest charge.  It appears that this is 'residual interest' and whilst the man on the phone tried to explain it to me, I pointed out that on my statement it said 'to clear your balance in full: £XXXX' due by March 29th... which, when I paid it on 9th March should leave me with zero.  I felt it was misleading so he agreed to clear the charge for me.

It wasn't the amount, because I have the money to pay it... It's the blooming' principle of being clear about what the charges are.  Feel like I am forever rolling my eyes these days, perhaps it's my age!

    Anyhoo, TTFN
