Cathay Pacific has changed their rules so if you are in First or Business and laying on your bed that you don't need to wear a mask... obviously thats a rather limited set of expensive options and not seeing others following soon but there are at least a tiny number of options out there.richardw said:
Some airlines are specifying a certain grade of mask as a requirement to fly, so seems it won’t be relaxed on some flights.NoodleDoodleMan said:Will the need for compulsory face coverings on flights be relaxed, or will these still be required on flights ?Sitting in an enclosed cylindrical tube for several hours wearing masks does not appeal to us.
All airlines say no need to wear mask whilst eating and drinking... certainly on our flights people were ensuring they had plenty of drinks and took their time whilst drinking them.0 -
Come on guys I would like to see a bit more optimism here.
I am sure Boris could come up with a great sound bite but, in the meantime we can have ... shell out to holiday out.
I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!1 -
Well i will own up and confess that we have booked to go to the Canaries at the end of May ,we have both had our first jab and should have had our second well before then ,we are of a certain age and as i cannot take it with me we might as well spend it.IvanOpinion said:Come on guys I would like to see a bit more optimism here.

We went to Greece in October ,wore masks in the airport except in the bar ,wore them on the plane unless eating or drinking ,no problems ,bear in mind when we go food shopping once a week we have to wear face coverings so basically used to it now ,1 -
We optimistically booked Antigua for early May, we’ve had to move the dates and have gone with the first week of September. Hopefully we will be able to go.
We went to Rhodes last September and yes, wore masks at the airport and during the flight. Rhodes was very quiet, hotel had great social distancing in place, temperatures taken twice a day, masks were worn in public areas; we felt safer there than we did here at the same time.0 -
It was Rhodes we visited in October ,very safe ,i went into the local shop for groceries and i was the only customer wearing a mask but the staff were ,our taxi transfer driver told us that there were only 2 people in the covid ward of the hospital BUT was fuming as they had put his mother in who had been taken to the hospital with chest pains.lady1964 said:We optimistically booked Antigua for early May, we’ve had to move the dates and have gone with the first week of September. I wonder when we'll see threads started by people saying "Late February, when the BBC said it would be 'OK', I booked a holiday to Spain for the May half-term but now we aren't allowed to go from UK / visit Spain - who do I blame?"TELLIT01 said:According to the news this morning many people are taking the chance and booking foreign holidays. TUI say their bookings are up 500% and Jet2 1000%. If you are looking for bargains get in quick.
Even the road map for UK does not give any date for international travel to resume and so many other countries are behind UK for vaccinations that, even if you can "go", you may not be able to "arrive" at the destination or even "return" without isolation periods.0 -
But then again we might! I would probably feel safer on a beach in Spain than in a music festival in the UK.Grumpy_chap said:
