Nothing booked. Reluctant to do so at the minute for same reasons others have already stated. I am hoping my teen gets to go on her first hol abroad without parents though, Greece in early July but I'm aware this might not happen because this age group may not have been vaccinated by then and that could be an issue.

Not going any where untill its all over and back to normal. or as near normal as it's going to be. can't be bothered queuing at the air port. everybody all hot n bothered. too much stress. and then when you get there, keeping fingers crossed you can get home again. I'd rather stay where I am and just wait a bit.
Did you never queue in the airport in the past ? never get hot and bothered or stressed ?

not really. used to book in on line. normally had secured parking, so they used to meet us at the terminal and take the car away. when we got back, some would bring the car back to us. hassle free. I think the things I just mentioned don't currently apply. so I guess the things I mentioned in my initial post do apply!.
  • As others have said it's presumptuous to think other countries will be ready to accept Brit tourists this summer.

According to the news this morning many people are taking the chance and booking foreign holidays.  TUI say their bookings are up 500% and Jet2 1000%.  If you are looking for bargains get in quick.

So on Sunday TUI took two bookings and on Monday that increased to 12.
Jet2 Holidays had one new booking on Sunday but on Monday that increased to 11.

Those Sunday bookings were probably people using up there credit refund notes ;)

Good point Westin. Mostly it's said 'a surge in bookings' and 'visits to the website/interest'
Likely people with vouchers and moved forward trips though we have no idea what will happen.
I'm quite grateful if it happens. I live in a tourist area and last summer was dreadful. It was so crowded with everyone off work and school that I spent most of the time at home.
Looking forward to when my travel time comes again though.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Who knows when they will be lifted in other countries
This can be a reason to look at countries that have not applied any blocks on foreign travellers to date... whilst anything is possible it seems broadly unlikely having allowed people in from everywhere for 12 months of Covid that they will suddenly decide to start imposing bans now.

    I wouldn't bet on that

Will the need for compulsory face coverings on flights be relaxed, or will these still be required on flights ?
Sitting in an enclosed cylindrical tube for several hours wearing masks does not appeal to us.

Some airlines are specifying a certain grade of mask as a requirement to fly, so seems it won’t be relaxed on some flights.
