Thanks, only on the basis if find work soon, then maybe I can use Amex or Amazon cards for replacing kitchen electricals , e.g. Fridge Freezer is next then maybe Cooker.
Only buy from Amazon if it's the best deal of course - you'll still get points if you buy from other retailers. No point paying £10 more to get an extra 10p of points....

Well you're not going to get reviews for an Amex/Natwest/Barclays card on Amazon now are you? Compare apples with apples. You can see similar comments to those all across trustpilot for just about every big brand financial institution out there. It still doesn't make them garbage.  But you only want to hear what you want to hear - and think Amex at 2 stars is better than all the others - but Newday that also has 2 stars is garbage. There you go.
It's actually a combination of Trustpilot + Amazon reviews + MSE posts.
I've read a lot of good things about Amex here, and even on Reddit, or anywhere on the internet. That also included some bad experiences, of course. Not so many positive things I found about NewDay. This thread is probably the first time I see some MSE members praising NewDay.
Maybe you should start a thread - asking for people's real life experiences - rather than trust what Trustpilot tells you.

    Maybe I will some day.
I said more than once that it's not just from Trustpilot, but... it doesn't matter.
Btw, what makes MSE reviews more "real life" than Trustpilot reviews?
I remember MSE profiles solely created for the purpose of promoting some particular product or a company.

As you say, opinions expressed on here aren't necessarily any more (or less) reliable than those shared on TrustPilot and the like, but at least on here you have the opportunity of engaging with posters to debate their views or tease out details - I'd express this as being more 'interactive' rather than 'real life' though....

Forums tend to attract fanboys however, so you will often get attacked if you say something negative about a company. Some people will deny what you are saying.

I don’t think there’s Amex fanboys especially in the U.K.. Sounds more like sour grapes from your comment that 1 in 4 places aren’t accepting Amex only for people to rebut you with evidence of the contrary.

But that's my point, people did not say in my experience etc. They tried to say I was wrong. They tried to dismiss me. Only fanboys do such things.

Sour grapes? again, only fanboys would say such things, I am meant to be sour because I can't use an Amex card? why? I am meant to be annoyed that people said I was wrong? not really, I gave examples of cafes etc that do not accept Amex, the replies to my comments focused purely on the hipster part of my comment. No doubt we can read into that.
  • not sure what all this rubbish is Re newday. I have the Amazon card and it has been fantastic. I know two others that have it and they also haven't mentioned any issues with it, and we talk about financial stuff alot.

I think you'll find it's called 'different people having different experiences and opinions', or are you seriously trying to insist that your sample of three must be fully representative of the entire population of their cardholders?
