Amex accepted sensible limit

Agreed, in Leeds / York there's plenty of hipster type shops and I've never struggled to use an Amex.Sandtree said:
Dont know where you are considering as hipster but all the places we go in Shoreditch, Peckham etc that are full of beardy hipster types almost all use iZettle etc and so do accept AmEx. Same goes for all the craft brewery places in Bermondsey. Even the Mrs accepts it when she does her popups around Dalston etc.Deleted_User said:No, it is not. I speak from my personal experience. Of course it depends on where you live, but here in London, all these hipster type places don't tend to accept it. Some of them only accept cash! My work canteens don't accept it, local pizza place, local cafe etc etc. I can never rely on my Amex alone. Sadly Amex has not tackled this issue.
Edit: Yeah I didn't know what IME meant either. I think my credit limit is £13.5 k but I may ask for more. Just for the sake of it.
By spend less than 2% of my card spend goes onto my backup Visa card and everything else goes on AmEx.
AmEx have said that I can go up to £55,000 in the past
That's some limit. My green amex lets me spend £27.5k when I tested it last week but never tried to see the maximum (I entered that) but I can spend £10-£20k on some months so it makes sense.Platinum & Gold cards are normal 5 figure limits.1 -

I see another DMP in the not so distant future.
But with all due respect, you're acting a bit like a kid in a candy shop when it comes to credit cards right now. Aside from it being a bit odd that you were chastising lenders for offering you so much unsecured credit in the Amazon thread you made, and then continuing to apply for it, your behaviour is waving all sorts of red flags. Especially as you're now facing redundancy, with the very real prospect of not finding work for a while.
All those cards you now have are going to be mighty tempting if you're forced onto UC or JSA...
What I posted, is that I wasn't tempting fate, though I have recently been posting via Redundancy board, maybe it's Fate.
My behaviour is responding to decent eligibility after over 10 years, I'm not a lifetime DMP'r -Circumstances change and are changing again very soon.
t.b.f -mser's don't know my personal details for credit, though my recent Applications were going to be a nice way forward, each starting from Zero balances.
UC/ESA are very possible, I have made Initial phone calls.

You're certainly responding to it, but in a very dangerous way.Dandytf said:

Applying for 3 (or is it 4?) cards in less than 3 months, along with a consolidation loan as soon as you possibly can isn't a good look. I'm even surprised you haven't started getting declines yet. It's also rather weird, given you claim to not want to use these cards. Why bother applying for cards you're not using? Especially since blowing a large wad of cash right off the bat is the best thing to do to maximise the sign-up bonuses for a couple of them.
Your last thread had you say you weren't going to use the Amazon card, but then later on you were clearly making a mental shopping list of tat to blow the limit on.
You were told to close some/all of the cards you were using the consolidation loan for but you seem to have clung onto them anyway. You applied for a balance transfer card, to BT a debt that was supposed to be covered by the consolidation loan you took out, so there's another £3k floating about out there. If this doesn't sound like a debt disaster waiting to happen to you then alright, but it seems very clear to me that's what's happening.
You're free to do whatever you want, as I said to another poster it was intended as a warning, and one you clearly won't heed but there we go.4 -
@2021BJ
Agree on a point to two you make.
I haven't yet Closed all previous Cards, Tesco 600 limit is Open as Intended -100 groceries paid half only 50 to repay before Due Date in effect in Full for late Jan/Early Feb -Groceries has increased as I read in todays news.
One of two Aqua Cards are closed the open one has 600 on 0% 6 Mths from one of two Cap1's.
So One Cap1 was Closed, 2nd is to be closed very soon.
The 600 on Aqua is to be paid down as much as possible -then transferred to rbs before late June to continue 0%.
Vanquis Chrome -that's 4K+ Limit, Zero balance, that's to be closed very soon.
Which brings me to regularly checking CRA reports/Eligibility checkers -which have been seriously negative during dmp years as expected.
Quite surprised that my Rating returns to Good/excellent during Jan 21 -even though I'm part time and a few months of dmp to complete, seems CRA's are NOT using these final payments as a Negative.
CRA's must be using calculations which rate Dropped of Defaults as more positive than the 'Negative' dmp payments.
My Intensions are -Continue with Tesco Foundation, maybe I'll be accepted in future for a better Card from Tesco, currently 80% eligibility.
Keep latest RBS+Amazon cards.
I intend to improve my home not major though a few essentials I haven't quite Managed in recent years.
This time is definitely different in respect of 'Redundancy' and recent 5k Lendable loan.
dmp could be pay off post Redundancy, Lendable Loan -depends if I find work soon.

Dandytf, you can apply for Amex Basic charge card (no annual fee) which has no credit limit, if you're worrying about it.
You'll just have to pay your balance in full each month, always!

1700 Limit is fine, as other kind mser's have stated, I'm pushing my luck as I have Generous rbs+amazon cards past few weeks.(3k ranges)
Not sure what or when I'll get to use Amex, though as it's to be Silver, I'm certain it is going to be added to Apple Pay.
