Weird, anti money laundering regulations means they have to monitor all cash paid in.
When you open an account they ask how much cash you will be depositing every month, if you deposit significantly more than that then you could be flagged for further investigation.

Just to get this straight: you sold some clothes yourself for £100 and were paid by bank transfer into your starling account? I cannot remotely see how that can result in a CIFAS marker.
Or did you allow a third party to deposit funds into your account and then pay them back in cash?

Yes I literally sold 2 pieces off clothing on droop and a event ticket,that totalled about 100£ ish I can’t remember exact amount as it was now a year ago,literally had starling close my account and they give me a marker,I’m clueless my self and still waiting for them to investigate it

Quick update I’ve successfully challenged it and starling have said it’s been removed just need to check with Cifas now

I applied for a few banks and got rejected last year before I knew I had the marker will I be okay to apply with them again if I go into brand and explain what happened or will they just deny my straight away
