I made dahl a little while ago for DH and I. We're not vegan but still enjoy vegan and veggie meals a few times a week. Dahl is one of the easy meals I make. I made enough for 2 days so we had with naan bread one day and with rice the other. If you like your food very spicy you might want to add a bit more than the recipe says as some of the recipes can be a bit bland for our tastes.

Hope everyone is good. Just did my last March shop. Total was £26 spend in Mr A. So claiming £125 for March budget. I did buy a nice jar of coffee so bumped up the spend by £4!!
Extra sugar and salt for the pantry stocks too.
Overspend of £5 for March so not too bad considering my budget is pretty strict.

Yesterday I stopped into Waitrose after a walk around the neighbourhood. £30.04 spent on salad, prepped veg, yoghurt, herbs, spices, fruit, cereal, eggs, 2 boxes of oat bars, roasted chicken thighs, and 2x herbed soft cheese. The herbed soft cheese is because the one I tried from Lidl doesn’t really rate well with me. My preferred brand was on sale at Waitrose anyway for same price as the Lidl product so I stocked up. Other products from the Lidl shop last week have been good, including olives, so I’m still happy with the results. I resisted buying cashews at Waitrose yesterday because I’d like to hold off to stock up at Lidl.
£30.04 spent
£305.51/ £300 total spent
We’re heading to a farm shop tomorrow and depending on what’s available we’ll purchase another fruit/veg box from our local vegan shop. Based on these forthcoming, I think we really will hit £350 this month. I’d also like to bulk purchase more of those Nairn’s oat bars as both of us have been running through them at a good clip. Funnily enough Waitrose is the cheapest for them whether on sale or not. I’ll add a bunch of boxes to our April C & C.

£52.18 spent in week 3, by far my best week of the year. Helped by a pretty full freezer, some ys bargains, and not needing to buy any non-food items. £252.19/£460 for the month to dateDebt free since December 2015. It can be done6

Currently at £221.86/£350, would love to squeeze in around £250 but that will depend on what I get in my affordable grocery collection this week and next and what is available from Ol!o. The leftovers gets added to the bulk fund so not a big deal if I do need to spend it.
Will need to stock up on beans, chopped tomatoes soon but hoping that will wait until April.Grocery Challenge 2024
