evening everyone, chilli con carne cooked and 8 portions in freezer. €29.87 spent this week with only 5.44 left for the rest of the week. I've not confident of keeping within the €250 budget this month, however I'm not that concerned as I have bought lots of storecupboard items and I have at least 20 meals in freezer and enough soups until next weekend. Jan & Feb figures were under by €85, so I am well within my year budget. Will need some fresh fruit, salad, veg and milk friday and also some pasta for storecupboard as it's on special offer, and maybe some more fresh ravioli as its delicious. €244.56 /€250 spent so far €5.44 left

Fell off my personal pedestal today due to succumbing to the temptation of y/s items when passing Mr Ts on the way home from a walk; I fell for 2 litres of semi skimmed goats milk and an organic cauliflower and therefore needed tinned chickpeas to roast with the cauli. I spent £3.60 and so my new total is £98.59/£124 which works out at £4.11 per day so if I can just last the next couple of days I should be back on track (famous last words).6

joedenise said:I made dahl a little while ago for DH and I. We're not vegan but still enjoy vegan and veggie meals a few times a week. Dahl is one of the easy meals I make. I made enough for 2 days so we had with naan bread one day and with rice the other. If you like your food very spicy you might want to add a bit more than the recipe says as some of the recipes can be a bit bland for our tastes.Thank you for the input, sounds very nice. My friend sent me her recipe, she makes a beautiful dahl, so will experiment.Hope everyone is doing well. Been going through stores, really makes me think out of the box cooking wise. Had some spends of £23.79, lots of soy milk, aubergine, mushrooms, garlic, 2kg of chickpeas and 2kg of sesame seeds. Will make some tahini and houmous (maybe roasted red pepper) and also the sesame milk someone suggested a while back. I really want to make some dairy free yoghurt, but not had much luck with it setting. Am still well stocked with stores, but am seeing some gaps, which is good. Happy shopping everyone.5

A couple of shops to report for this week - now have £35.06 left with one more shop for this month so should have a little bit left to move over to the bulk fund ready for next month which is very much needed as have gone over a bit today as Morries had whole salmon on special offer so bought that today in case they hadn't got any next time I go in.

I'm pretty sure I'll be "bust" this month, if I'm not already. £40 spent on meat & bread this morning, which I've added to my total, but there have also been a couple of small supermarket spends I haven't added (things like butter, yogurt, cream, milk, pickle & chorizo suddenly "vanishing" from the fridge and needing replaced. Presumed eaten, or removed to DD1's boyfriend's abode...) plus there'll be the market spend on cheese, fish, fruit & veg tomorrow. I've bought extra because DS3 really is returning home for good this weekend, plus I'm stocking up for dinner for 8 (just two households, honest!) out in the gazebo on Monday night, weather permitting. It will be so lovely to have most of the family together for a couple of hours, if only outdoors! So I won't repine over going a little over target, I'll just try harder next month.Angie - GC Aug25: £478.51/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

Evening all. We’ve had multiple stops into shops since Sunday including the farm shop, the vegan store and a couple stints in Waitrose. I picked up a couple packages of YS ground beef in Waitrose today and stocked up on my oat bars that have been sold out lately. Also got a couple kinds of pork chops. Time to start eating through meat supplies.
I thought we would be done for shopping this month but noticed this evening we’re down to literally 2 cloves of garlic, which is a daily ingredient for us. And just one onion. Oy vey. I’m stopping into Boots tomorrow to collect a prescription so I’ll try to jump in and out of the grocery store afterward. Night all!£67.96 spent the past few days
£378.97/ £300 total spent
